Some summer romances start with a plan. This one starts with a mishap. The teen romance drama Summer Vacation has released stills from its first episode, showing the unexpected first meeting of Cho Yi Hyun and Jin Young. The premiere is October 26.

What Is Summer Vacation About?

Cho Yi Hyun plays Kim Ha Yeon, an ordinary high school student who has a mysterious experience during her summer vacation before returning to reality. Jin Young plays Jo Yu Gyeom, a boy her age. It’s a youthful romance set against a rural summer backdrop, and fans of teen romance will find plenty to like.

Two Very Different Lives

• Jo Yu Gyeom: He lives a dull, uneventful life under the strict rules of his family’s ancestral household. He is the eldest male heir.
• Kim Ha Yeon: She dreams of something extraordinary beyond her monotonous routine. She eventually makes her way from Seoul to the village of Upo.

The two have no prior connection, but an accidental encounter at an unfamiliar beach sets changes in motion for both of them.

What the Stills Reveal?

The newly released stills show the pair facing each other against a backdrop of lush green foliage. A few details stand out:

• Ha Yeon wears Yu Gyeom’s white shirt while still wet from the water, hinting at an unexpected incident.
• Yu Gyeom looks at her with a blank expression.
• Ha Yeon lowers her eyes, apparently embarrassed, creating subtle tension.

The production team describes Episode 1 as an intense yet innocent encounter that leaves a lasting impression on both at first sight. They also tease fresh on-screen chemistry amid the lush midsummer scenery.

Why You Should Watch?

Contrasting worlds, a scenic village and a meeting that begins with an accident make for an appealing setup. The mystery element in Ha Yeon’s summer adds extra intrigue beyond the romance. You can watch the trailer on Viki now and start the series when it premieres.
