Why Season 5 Was Always Going to Happen
On the day of its Season 4 premiere, Panchayat was already trending in 40+ countries in the Top 10 streaming titles. In India, it held onto its top spot for weeks after release.
Released on June 24, 2025, Season 4 proved to be the most-watched season of the Panchayat series so far, liked not only in India but across more than 180 countries worldwide. With numbers like that, Season 5 was never really a question of if — only when.
What Happened in Season 4 — and What’s Coming Next
Season 4 put Phulera through political fire. Politics took centre stage as Phulera geared up for the Pradhan election. Manju Devi and Kranti Devi locked horns as the Pradhan seat was contested. Sachiv Ji simultaneously grappled with the dilemma of leaving Phulera after scoring in the 97th percentile on his CAT exam, while the mystery of who shot Brij Bhushan kept audiences riveted. As the season wrapped, Kranti Devi’s camp won the Pradhan election by a narrow margin.
In Season 5, Abhishek Tripathi will face a challenging work environment under new and possibly vengeful leadership. As he continues to dream about pursuing his MBA, unresolved issues in Phulera threaten to hold him back. The upcoming season is expected to balance humour with deeper themes of ambition, responsibility, and personal growth.
The Team That Built Something Special
TVF President Vijay Koshy said: “It has been a truly extraordinary journey collaborating with Prime Video to bring Panchayat to life. This series holds a special place in our hearts, as it beautifully captures the charm, humour, and nuances of rural India… We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming love Season 4 has received — not just from viewers across India, but from audiences around the world.”
Six years. Five seasons. One village. And somehow, Phulera still feels like home.
