The previous ‘triple punishment’ rule meant that a player – when he denied an opponent a goal-scoring opportunity – was automatically sent off and handed a suspension, besides a penalty being awarded as well.
Alejandro Menendez was happy with the fighting spirit shown by his men, but questioned some of referee Tejas Nagvenkar’s decisions after East Bengal lost the Durand Cup semifinal to Kerala FC in a penalty shootout.

Suhair came as a substitute in the 68th minute of the game. Sored his first goal in the 93rd minute of the extra time when he was set unmarked inside the Real Kashmir box, gave his team a lead of 2-1. He again scored in the second half of the extra time and took the lead to 3-1.

Mohun Bagan reached the semi-finals of Durand Cup as the table toppers of Group B. They won all the matches of the group. Beat Mohammedan SC 2-0 in its opening game, while it beat ATK 2-1 on August 8th and Indian Navy 1-0 on August 17.
Real Kashmir was in Group C,won two out of three matches in the group stage. Won 1-0 against Chennai City FC and 4-0 vs Army Green in its first two matches. It held FC Goa to a 0-0 draw on August 17 to top Group C.
Mohun Bagan will take on Gokulam Kerela FC on the clash of its seventeenth title on saturday.

In 2019 we already have seen many gaming laptops and also witnessed HP’s refreshed Pavilion Gaming laptop series. Before they launched the Pavilion gaming laptops with 9th gen Intel processors paired with NVIDIA graphics, now it’s time for AMD CPUs to rise.

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo told Portuguese broadcaster TVI about his future and how much he could have been worth.
Juventus spent €112m including add-ons when they signed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner from Real Madrid in 2018. Only five players – Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann and Philippe Coutinho – have commanded larger transfer fees than Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo believes a 25-year-old version of himself would be worth up to €300million in today’s transfer market. He told TVI: “Today there is a lot of focus on potential and the football industry is different. I’ll put the case of Joao Felix aside. Nowadays any player is worth €100m, even without proof. There is more money in football. Central defenders and goalkeepers are worth €70million, €80million. I do not agree with it, but this is the world we live in. The market is like that, we have to respect it.”
Real Madrid forked out €94m to prise him away from Manchester United in 2009, which made it the all-time highest transfer then. Ronaldo was asked what would his 25-year-old version be worth in today’s transfer market. He replied: “It is hard to calculate. If a goalkeeper is worth €75m, a player who has done what I had must be worth three to four times more. Easy. But I have no such illusion.”

The 34-year-old Portugal captain scored 28 goals in 43 games in all competitions for Juventus and helped the Italian giants win another Serie A title in 2018-19. When Ronaldo was asked about his future, he commented: “I don’t think about that. Maybe I can leave my career next year … but I can also play up to 40 or 41. I don’t know. What I always say is to enjoy the moment. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it.”
Ronaldo has won a record five Champions League titles (four with Real Madrid and one with Manchester United), three Premier League crowns, two LaLiga trophies, one Serie A title, and one Euro Cup and a UEFA Nations League title with Portugal, along with many other individual records. Franck Ribery joins Fiorentina in a free transfer after his contract with Bayern Munich ended last season.
The 36-year-old French winger, Franck Ribery spent 12 seasons with Bayern Munich. He scored 124 goals in 425 appearances for the Bavarians. He also won a club-record of 24 titles, which includes the UEFA Champions League in 2013 and 9 Bundesliga titles. The Frenchman left the club at the end of the 2018/19 season when his contract with Bayern expired.
After leaving Bayern Munich at the end of last season, Ribery had been linked with moves to China, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He has, though, opted to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues. He has now arrived in Florence to complete a move to Fiorentina.
According to reports, Fiorentina has offered Ribery a two-year contract earning approximately €4 million per year.
Ribery will follow in the footsteps of former Bayern striker Mario Gomez, who also signed for Fiorentina after four successful years at Bayern Munich. Ribery will also find himself sharing the locker room with another Boateng: FC Fiorentina recently signed Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng’s brother Kevin-Price Boateng, after his quick stint at Barcelona. Both the moves will improve the quality of Fiorentina’s squad. Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella hopes to lead Fiorentina back to European competition. Manchester United and Inter Milan have reportedly held talks over the transfer of Alexis Sanchez.
Alexis Sanchez made just 20 Premier League appearances last season and has slowly found himself marginalized under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. According to Sky Italy, Inter’s representatives are in London to negotiate a deal for the 30-year-old who is ‘open to joining’ the club.
Sanchez has endured a miserable time at United since he joined from Arsenal in January 2018 in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to the Gunners. He has scored four goals in 32 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, with his spell at Old Trafford heavily affected by various injuries.
Inter are reportedly ready to give Manchester United outcast Alexis Sánchez an escape route from Old Trafford this summer. They would sign Sanchez on a season-long loan, which would allow the Chile international to reunite with his former United team-mate Romelu Lukaku.
Solskjaer said after United’s 1-1 league draw away to Wolves: “There’s still a couple of weeks left of the transfer window. There is a chance [he could leave]. Some clubs have shown interest in Alexis and we’ll see what happens. We can’t update you more than that.”
According to reports, the Red Devils have agreed to pay €8m of the €12m, which Sanchez will be owed between September and the end of the season. Inter will not be asked to pay any loan fee and will only need to pay €4m in wages, but United accepted that because the Serie A side want to sign Sanchez permanently at the end of this season for between €12m and €15m.
Should Inter choose to do sign Sanchez permanently next season, they would offer Sanchez a base salary of €4m, which could rise to €6.5m based on performance-related bonuses. That’s a significant reduction on what Sanchez earns at Old Trafford, but it is a clear indication of his desire to bring his United nightmare to an end.
Sanchez has already agreed on personal terms with Inter. The Serie A side are now simply waiting for United to give the move the green light, which is not expected to take much longer, so Sanchez could arrive in Milan as early as Tuesday night to finalize the move.
If Manchester United did sanction a sale, it would leave them with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood as the only strikers in their squad. Anthony Martial has started the 2019-20 season in fine form. The France international hit the opening goal of the game at Molineux to reach 50 in all competitions for United and Solskjaer hailed his impact.
Solskjaer said about Martial: “He’s scored two in two now and he’ll only improve. The relationship between him and Marcus [Rashford], Jesse [Lingard] and the other forwards will only improve. The more we get him into positions to score, the more he will. He’s more between the posts so I’m happy with that. It was a wonderful goal.”
