Erling Haaland’s father makes surprising Manchester United statement

Erling Haaland has been one of the most sought-after teenagers in world football. He first broke into the scene in the Champions League with RB Salzburg. He caught the eye of everyone and there was a race among all the top European clubs to sign the teenage sensation.

Finally, German giants, Borussia Dortmund was able to sign the striker courtesy their track record of developing teenagers into world-class players.

Haaland has been one of the best strikers in Bundesliga only behind former Dortmund and current Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski. Despite being so young he is capable of scoring great goals and has exceptional awareness and positioning along with accurate finishing.

Premier League club Manchester United has been struggling with their strikers since Lukaku was sold and Martial was made a makeshift striker. So, Erling Haaland’s father’s statement will come as a surprising yet good news to them.

Haaland, himself made it clear last September that his dream is to play in the Premier League one day. He told TV2: “I have dreamed of playing for the best clubs in the world my whole life, and I especially like English football.”

His father Alf-Inge Haaland, who played for English clubs like Leeds United and Manchester City, has now offered more insight into the thoughts of his son, who is already one of Europe’s leading goalscorers.

He told SPORT1 (quotes via Marca): “When you play well, it’s only logical that big clubs knock on your door, but we’re talking about speculation here,”

“At the moment it’s not in Erling’s or my head that another club will be vying for him. We signed a long contract with Dortmund and they have a fantastic team for Erling right now. We don’t want to look any further ahead.”

“You never know what will happen. We haven’t talked about such a step yet. I think we would like to win some trophies with Dortmund. That is his goal. Erling can still achieve a lot in Germany and make great progress. Moving abroad is not a priority for us.”

“I sometimes think he wants to and can asset himself in any league. At the moment, he is happy in the Bundesliga and focused on Dortmund. He just wants to be a better player and doesn’t look too far ahead.”

He then made some surprising statements about Manchester United. He added: “Manchester United have achieved great success in recent years. The club is also trying to build something new there. But to draw this comparison now is not so easy because he is already playing in Dortmund.”

“These are two very traditional clubs with a large fan base and a glorious history. Man United is a very proud club, just like Dortmund in Germany. And Dortmund want to beat FC Bayern [Munich] soon, that’s the clear club.”

“We have to catch up to them. Erling wants to cling to this goal.”

Andrea Pirlo was originally appointed as the head coach of the Juventus U-23 team. However, after the dismissal of Maurizio Sarri from the post of the head coach, the former Juventus midfielder was given an unexpected promotion, becoming the head coach of the first team.

Since taking the reigns at his former club, Pirlo has only managed to win two games on the pitch, against Spezia and Sampdoria. The three points against Napoli were given to the Bianconeri after the visitors refused to show up following a couple of positive coronavirus cases in the squad.

With the rest of the games ending with the scores level, Juventus are still unbeaten in Serie A. Despite not dropping all three points in the league yet, the reigning champions are 5th in the table. They trail league leaders AC Milan by 4 points.

Pirlo has been experimenting a fair bit with the way his team are set out over the 90. So far, the Bianconeri have played with 3 centre-backs, and have sometimes had a lone striker.

In recent games, Pirlo has opted to use an old-fashioned 4-4-2 formation. The attack is led by Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata, and the manager hopes that the time for experimenting is over.

“I have had the opportunity to work with players who are super willing to talk and make some technical, tactical changes, so I’m satisfied with this.”

“Depending on the matches, maybe something will change, but let’s first give an energetic impression and then maybe we will change something.”

Morata has been Juventus’ best player so far, netting 6 times in 8 games. His partnership with CR7 could prove to be season-defining. Especially considering that the two players are already familiar with each other from their days in Real Madrid.

Rafael Leao, Samu Castillejo and Mateo Mussachio took to Instagram to appreciate the gesture shown by the Swede, as they posted stories about their brand new consoles.

Despite his unconventional and charismatic exterior, Zlatan is a very humble and generous human being. This gesture could be a way to motivate the entire team to fight for their place in the league.

Milan have been in red hot form since the start of the season and will be hoping to extend their run of form as long as possible to try and usurp Juventus from their throne.

The once-titans of Europe have endured a sharp decline over the last decade. They last won the league title exactly a decade ago, in the 2010/11 season.

The Rossoneri have been starved for silverware since the 2016/17 season, winning the Italian Super Cup last. All that said, this isn’t the first time Zlatan has treated his teammates. He did the same thing at PSG when he treated the players to an Xbox console.

In the meantime, ICC has changed some rules regarding the World Test Championship format. Two finalists of the ongoing World Test Championship will be decided by the ‘Percentage of Points earned’. ICC committee headed by former Indian spinner Anil Kumble has decided to chose the finalist on this basis in this disrupted World Test Championship.

Earlier it was decided that the nine top-ranked sides will play six series over two years with the top two making the final at Lord’s. But it was postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, ICC needs to find out some other way.

“Both the Cricket Committee and Chief Executive Committee support the approach of ranking teams based on completed matches and points earned as this reflects their performance and doesn’t disadvantage teams that have been unable to complete all their matches through no fault of their own”- ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said about this new system.

But it is bad news for Team India as it has seen them in the second position in this new point formula. They are now behind Australia on the leaderboard. Australia has a point percentage of 0.822 and India has 0.75.

Huawei brings MateStation B515 with AMD Ryzen 4000G APUs

The Chinese tech giant, after facing a lot of backslash in its smartphone business, is diversifying its PC business and looking to invest more into the segment having sold its sub-division Huawei recently.

Well, it’s not the speculated Huawei Desktop based on their Kunpeng Platform that was leaked earlier. However, the new MateStation B515 is powered by the new Ryzen 4000G desktop APUs reserved for OEMs only. Combining the Zen 2 cores with integrated Vega graphics, these 7nm chips runs cool despite a strong performance.

You can configure the desktop with either the 6-core Ryzen 5 4600G or the 8-core Ryzen 7 4700G Renoir APU. In terms of RAM and storage, you get 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM options and 256 GB or 512 GB SSD along with a 1 TB SATA HDD.

If you look closely, you’ll see the chassis adopts a Chinese-style grille design with dimensions of 293mm*93mm*315.5mm. For the I/O, you have a USB Type-C fast charging port along with other USB ports, an HDMI port, two Ethernet ports, and a VGA connection. For connectivity, we have dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.

Also, you have the much-needed 23.8-inch FHD (16:9) full-screen monitor with the MateStation B515, which has a screen-to-body ratio of 90%. The interesting thing is that you also have a Huawei smart keyboard, and like laptops, it has a power button that integrates fingerprint recognition.

It also supports connection with the smartphone through NFC and the NFC module being located in the right shift key. The desktop runs on Windows 10 Home Edition system and comes with useful features like multi-screen collaboration and file transfer.

It seems the investment spree into Reliance Retail has finally halted for a moment as Reliance has recently issued a press release about its entire investment process. It has confirmed that all the investments have been completed with receipt of funds and issue of shares.

RRVL has received a cumulative subscription amount of ₹ 47,265 crores from the following financial partners and allotted 69,27,81,234 equity shares to them. The respective equity stake in RRVL, on a fully diluted basis, is also provided in the following table:

Intel is going to launch a new laptop, and yes, it is Intel’s in-house production. The name of the machine is NUC M15, but instead of selling directly, Intel will sell this laptop through various partners in 2021.

You will not find any Intel’s logo on the lid because Intel will supply the device to boutique shops, where different storage configuration will be installed and will be branded by themselves. Intel has done this previously with the MAG-15. Several small brands sold gaming laptops across the world. It is assumed that Schenker, Eluktronics, Maingear, XPG, and some other companies will sell the new NUC M15.

Intel is aiming for impressive performance and cooling, instead of gaming performance. For powering up the machine, there will be either a Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7 processor. For graphics, it has Intel Xe G7 GPU. This machine comes with a Tiger Lake chipset. It will feature 8 GB or 16 GB of soldered RAM. The choice is up to those companies who will sell the NUC M15.

The NUC M15 features a 15.6 inch IPS display, with 1920 x 1080 resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The default option is a non-touch display, but it can be possible that Intel will offer a touchscreen facility to the companies, who will sell the NUC M15.

The laptop weighs 1.65 kg. For portability, it has two Thunderbolt 4 and USB Type C ports, two USB-A 10 Gbps ports, an HDMI port with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. You will notice each USB-C port on both sides. NUC M15 has a 73 Wh battery and Intel claims that it will give 16 hours of battery life. This laptop from Intel is expected to cost around US$999 to US$1,499.

UK government has decided to bail out £300million to help against the COVID-19 pandemic. Many industrial organizations have faced some major financial problems regarding this COVID-19 pandemic. Sports industries are not an exception.

On 19^th November, the UK government has announced £300million had been made available to help the 11 sectors survive amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Football is one of those 11 sectors. £28million is allocated for football out of £300million.

But surprisingly, this £28million is not for any sort of Football club or league. This is for international football and Women’s football. The UK government allocated £11million for National League [Step 1-2], £14million for National League [Step 3-6], and £3million for the Women’s Football (Super League & Championship).

The allocation is not going to help any of the country’s elite footballers. Premier League and Premier League Clubs have undoubtedly suffered like many other businesses and institutions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this year, a report published in ‘The Guardian’ predicted that the Premier League club will face a collective loss of more than £500million due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The drop in income from broadcasting, ticket sales, and other matchday revenue streams are putting the clubs into trouble.

Google and MY.GAMES enters into a partnership called Game Drive

MY.GAMES, previously known as Mail.Ru, is a famous company for its AAA games, popular on mobile and console platforms. The company is now reportedly looking to expand its business across Europe and Russia. It has now entered into a partnership with Google to develop mobile games and other console projects. The association is officially termed Game Drive and will help the studio expand its studio business.

Game Drive will allow developers to submit a project until the cut-off date of January 8th. A panel of developers will select the most promising projects from both MY.GAMES, and Google. And the selected party will be invited to a demo day on January 28th.

In this partnership, the support from each side will be valuable. Both the companies are equally valuable, as Google knows how to make a game successful, whereas mine.GAMES has published many successful mobile titles, such as War Robots, Hustle Castle, and Left to Survive.
