Union Budget 2023 on Indian Gaming Industry

0

The Indian gaming industry is one of the most important in this dominant digital era. As the world’s fastest-growing esports market, the Government of India established the AVGC promotion task force in its annual budget last year. The last quarter of 2022 also saw decisions on online gaming regulation and the appointment of MeITY as the nodal Ministry.

With the government actively involved in shaping the gaming scenario, it is all set to contribute significantly to the economy.

According to reports, the Indian gaming industry is growing at a CAGR of 28-30%.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently took over the session and announced the budget for 2023. Unlike last year, no specifics have been revealed for the AVGC sector, which includes India’s gaming industry.

  • Attention was drawn to the increase in the production of mobile phones. The industry has been valued at Rs 31 crore units.
  • App development will be encouraged using 5G services in engineering institutions. About 100 labs will be set up to recognise this effort.
  • For Real Money Gaming, a 30% TDS over the net winnings has been proposed. Additionally, the current minimum threshold limit of Rs 10,000 for TDS has been removed. Thus there won’t be any specific threshold for “online gaming”.

Various organisations and members of India’s gaming and eSports industry are now debating the implications. An increase in mobile production indicates a potential increase in mobile gaming, which will have a direct impact on the mobile gaming industry. The rise of 5G services can only mean good things for the various aspects of gaming in India, from development to usage.

Who is Andrey Santos? Brazilian Jude Bellingham that Chelsea signed for only £18m

0

Of all the big money that Chelsea have spent this January, the deal for Andrey Santos seems to have been a bargain. The youngster is performing incredibly well for Brazil in the U-20 South American Championships.

He has scored four goals in the tournament as a midfielder, and has been very impressive throughout. His performances have drawn comparison to Jude Bellingham, suggesting that Chelsea might have acquired a similar skillset for a much cheaper price.

Andrey Santos: Chelsea’s under the radar new signing

With the likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix joining Chelsea in January, it can be easy for fans to have overlooked Andrey Santos who is relatively unknown.

However, the 18-year-old could be set for a bright future after he has settled in London. Manchester City and Newcastle United were both keen on signing him, but Chelsea ultimately won the race due to their quickness to put together a deal back in November.

Santos has earned a reputation as a very complete midfielder – he gets into the opposition penalty box, is able to threaten the goal, and is also physically imposing in central areas. He is also able to contribute defensively with a good tackle and interception success rate.

As a result, he could be very well suited for the physical and fast nature of the Premier League. However, for the time being, he is yet to receive a work permit which has prevented him from moving to London.

Folarin Balogun scores hat-trick to become Ligue 1 top scorer ahead of Mbappe

0

Folarin Balogun has been lighting up Ligue 1 since he joined Reims on loan, and he is currently the top scorer with 14 goals. Kylian Mbappe has scored 13 goals so far this season, and is second in the race for the top scorer award.

The 21-year-old scored a hat-trick in Reims’ 4-2 win against Lorient. And in doing so, he became the leading goalscorer in the French top flight.

Folarin Balogun becomes Ligue 1 top scorer with hat-trick

The youngster has a contract with Arsenal until 2025, and was loaned out to Middlesbrough previously. He failed to make a consistent impact with them and was sent to Reims this past summer.

Things have worked out very well for him, and he is following in the footsteps of William Saliba, who also made a huge impact in France before going back upon the completion of his loan spell.

And since it is a temporary move, he will be returning to the club in the summer.

“Arsenal is my family. For me, the club represents brotherhood and unity,” Folarin Balogun explained. “There, I learned always to push my limits. I remember from training the permanent desire to progress on a technical level.

“I think by the time I go back I’ll be in a better place to compete than I was before I left. I realised there were certain things I would struggle with, but I think that’s a good thing. It helps you to manage stuff you’re uncomfortable with which is important.”

ChatGPT breaks the record for fastest user growth!

According to a UBS study released on 1 February 2023, ChatGPT, the well-known chatbot from OpenAI, is expected to have amassed 100 million monthly active users in January, just 2 months after its release, which makes it the fastest-growing consumer app in history.

ChatGPT becoming a phenomenon!

As per the analysis, which used data from the analytics company Similarweb, ChatGPT saw more than twice as many unique visits in January than it did in December or an average of approximately 13 million per day.

ChatGPT breaks the record for fastest user growth!

UBS analysts stated in the note that they “cannot recall a faster ramp in a consumer internet app” in their 20 years of monitoring the internet space. Data from Sensor Tower shows that although Instagram took 2.5 years to reach 100 million users following its global launch, TikTok took around nine months. ChatGPT can respond to prompts by producing articles, essays, jokes, and even poetry. It was made freely available to the general public in late November by OpenAI, a private business supported by Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O).

Initially available to users solely in the United States, OpenAI introduced a $20 monthly subscription on Thursday. According to the company, it would offer a faster, more reliable service and the chance to test out new features in advance.

Analysts predict that OpenAI will have a competitive advantage over other AI firms thanks to ChatGPT’s viral debut. While increasing usage puts a strain on OpenAI’s computational resources, it has also given vital feedback that has helped the chatbot learn how to respond to different scenarios.

The business claimed that the subscription income would aid in defraying the cost of the computer system. Concerns regarding the tool’s accessibility to academic dishonesty and disinformation have been highlighted. Microsoft revealed a new multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI last month, this time in the form of money and cloud computing services.

Breaking: Raphael Varane retires from France national team at 29

0

Raphael Varane has announced his decision to retire from international football, ending his career with France. The 29-year-old earned 93 caps for the French national team during his career.

He was a part of the squad that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and also won the 2021 Nations League. While he returned from injury in time for the 2022 World Cup, he could not help the team defend their title and they finished as runners-up.

Raphael Varane announces retirement from France national team

“Representing our beautiful country for a decade has been one of the greatest honours of my life,” Raphael Varane said in a statement. “Every time I wore that special blue jersey I felt an immense sense of pride, the duty to give everything, to play with my heart and to win every time we took the field.

“I’ve been thinking about it for several months and I decided that it was the right time for me to retire from international football.”

Since making his debut in 2013, he has emerged as one of the best central defenders in the world with France. He follows captain Hugo Lloris, who also announced his retirement from the national team following the defeat in the final in Qatar.

Varane has had to struggle for fitness after his move to Manchester United from Real Madrid. The centre-back will now play exclusively for club football, and has cited family reasons and the pressure of performing for both setups behind his decision to call it a day with France.

Poco X5 won’t be launched in India

0

The Poco X5 Pro will go on sale in India on February 6, according to a statement from Poco India. Any reference to the Poco X5 that is not a Pro was left out of that announcement, and a new leak today suggests there is a solid reason for this.

Poco X5 features

Apparently, the Poco X5 won’t be debuting in India with its Pro sister. The X5 will appear in Europe instead. The next query is if the X5 Pro would be made accessible outside of India, specifically in Europe. Although there isn’t a response just yet, we’ll most likely learn it within a few days given the way the leaks are going.

Regardless, the full specification sheet has been revealed thanks to some marketing materials today, and it appears that the device will be available in Europe. The phone’s 6.67-inch 1080×2400 120 Hz AMOLED touchscreen has a 240 Hz touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space is covered by the panel, which is Low Blue Light certified.

Along with a 48 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultrawide, a 2 MP macro, and a 13 MP selfie camera, the Poco X5 also has three more cameras. A 33W wired charging support is available for the battery’s 5,000 mAh cell. The Snapdragon 695 SoC from Qualcomm is in charge.

Report: Memory chip prices will keep falling through 2023

0

Memory chip prices are expected to fall further through the first half of 2023, and possibly beyond. TrendForce, a market intelligence firm, predicted that DRAM prices would fall by 20% in the first quarter and 11% in the second quarter. Meanwhile, NAND flash prices are expected to fall 10% and 3% in the first and second quarters, respectively.

According to TrendForce, DRAM and NAND flash prices fell 23 percent and 28 percent in the previous three months. Memory chip pricing peaked during Covid due to strong consumer electronics demand, but began to fall near the end of 2021. Rising interest rates, geopolitical uncertainty from the Russia-Ukraine war, and sporadic Covid lockdowns in China exacerbated the situation in 2022.

According to the research firm, a combination of high interest rates, rising inflation, and weak global economics will continue to impact consumer and corporate spending on devices such as smartphones, PCs, and servers, all of which use both types of memory, in the coming months.

The decease in memory chip prices could put additional strain on a tech industry already dealing with reduced investments and job cuts.

Samsung warned earlier this month that operating profit for the October-December quarter is expected to fall 69 percent from the same period last year. FactSet analysts predict that memory chip maker SK Hynix will report a fourth-quarter loss of about $661 million later this week. Intel reported a 32% drop in revenue year over year in its most recent quarter.

Smartphone demand was low during the holidays, but Samsung may be able to kick-start sales in 2023 with a new wave of products set to be announced at its Unpacked event on February 1. Nothing has also confirmed plans for its next flagship to arrive in the United States later this year, and Apple’s iPhone 15 is almost certainly coming in September.
