Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 rumored to powered future 10-inch Tablets

0

Qualcomm’s hardware partners are unlikely to pursue the company’s Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 because it lacks the required performance punch. Fortunately, the upcoming Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 SoC could be outfitted with 10-inch tablets, providing Qualcomm’s clients with some incentive to push product launches that will compete with Apple’s iPad lineup.

Unlike other companies that test prototypes or reference designs for future product development, Qualcomm has been testing software development since November 2022, according to WinFuture. While no specific launch dates have been provided, the report claims that, in addition to being used in larger 13-inch notebooks, the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 could also be found in smaller 10-inch models.

This means that hardware manufacturers could release devices that can run either Android or Windows, and the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 could provide enough performance to support both platforms.

While the SoC should have no trouble running Android, Microsoft and Qualcomm’s Achilles’ heel has been integrating with Windows. From the lack of app support to the poor performance, all of these negative aspects have kept consumers from seriously considering such products.

This is where Apple has thrived, repurposing its older chipsets and incorporating them into low-cost iPad models, resulting in a massive market share. An early sample of the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 is said to be manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm node at 3.00GHz, so we believe it should not have any thermal issues when running in a 10-inch tablet. The Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 is a 12-core CPU with eight performance cores and four power-efficiency cores.

Other appealing features of the SoC, as revealed by an earlier specification leak, include integrated 5G, Wi-Fi 7, support for external GPUs, and more, which should pique the interest of Qualcomm’s hardware partners. It’s also possible that the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 runs at lower frequencies when used in smaller tablets, such as Apple’s M2 iPad Pro, because the CPU in the tablet runs slower than the same silicon used in the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Foxconn might soon make Karnataka as its third Indian state for Investment

0

Foxconn and the Taiwanese government are discussing a partnership that would allow the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer to rapidly upgrade Indians’ skills to meet the needs of the semiconductor industry.

The plan is to use Taiwan Education Centres (TEC) across India to train local technology professionals with Foxconn’s proprietary technical material and Mandarin language provided by the TECs. This combination of technical and linguistic abilities would aid in bridging the gap between Indian and Taiwanese companies and talent.

On that note, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Wednesday that India’s Karnataka state is in serious talks with Taiwan’s Foxconn about investment plans, potentially making it the country’s third state to host Foxconn.

Intel to put a stop on the Shipment of its 11th Generation Rocket Lake-S CPUs

0

On Tuesday, Intel informed partners that the company’s 11th Generation Rocket Lake-S CPUs would be discontinued, with the last shipment date set for February 23, 2024. The 11th Generation Core Intel Rocket Lake-S processors were built on the 14nm process, signalling the end of all client CPUs in the core family that used that node. Partners will have until August 25, 2023, to place orders for the Rocket Lake-S CPUs from Intel before the company stops accepting new orders.

Intel has decided to discontinue production of the Xeon W-1300 processors.

The Rocket Lake series debuted in 2021 and used the company’s 14nm process, which it established in 2014. The Cypress Cove core architecture was very different from the Ice Lake laptop CPUs, which used the 10nm process. Because of Intel’s decision, the chipset was limited to eight cores on the CPU die. The previous generation’s dies could only hold a maximum of ten cores.

One reason Intel continued to use the 14nm process was that the level of utilisation in manufacturing was too high for the company to switch to another process. Intel’s Rocket Lake series was also ahead of its time, with new artificial intelligence features like Intel’s Deep Learning Boost and support for Vector Neural Network Instructions.

The Intel Corporation notification listed twenty-six processors, including the Intel Core i9-11900K, the series’ flagship processor, and the same power as the Intel Xeon W-1390P but with features required for workstations and enterprises. Intel has discontinued the Rocket Lake processors, which include the i5, i7, and i9 models, as well as the workstation Xeon W models.

Women’s Premier League will unearth stars of the future… Needs prime time telecast, says cricketer Mithali Raj on ‘Duologue with Barun Das’

Streaming just ahead of the T20 women’s world cup, former two-time captain of the Indian women cricket team Mithali Raj pours her heart out in a new season of Duologue with Barun Das on News9 Plus. She talks about the gamechanger for women’s cricket – WPL – where she mentors the Gujarat Giants team, building an ecosystem that encourages women to take up sports in India, BCCI’s progressive pay parity, and her eagerness at taking a sports administrator role.

Mithali Raj, known for her unparalleled batting skills and fierce determination on the cricket field, revealed a new facet of her personality on ‘Duologue with Barun Das’ streaming now on the world’s first news OTT – News9 Plus.

“Mithali’s unique perspective on leadership and well-structured ideas on bridging the gap in a ‘man vs woman’ sporting culture made the duologue an insightful and memorable one,” said Barun Das, MD & CEO of TV9 Network who also dons host’s hat on the series.

Asked if she is ready to take up the role of an administrator after a successful cricketing career, Raj said, “Yes. If I can be part of any role in administration to chalk out the structure for the grass root level or to (create) a yearly calendar for women’s cricket… and always (be) there for women cricketers whenever they feel the need to talk something out.”

Women’s Premier League will unearth stars of the future… Needs prime time telecast, says cricketer Mithali Raj on ‘Duologue with Barun Das’

While recounting the multiple successes she encountered in her 23-year-long professional journey, Raj also candidly shared some of her regrets. “Despite being part of six world cups that I have played, I couldn’t get… the trophy. That probably is one thing that is missing in my cabin,” she expressed.

Being forthright comes naturally to the former captain. On the very first episode, she discloses her reasons for announcing her retirement from cricket on social media on 8th June 2022. But moving beyond bygones, Raj spoke on the critical role media plays in shaping public perception of female athletes and expressed her desire for furthering equal representation and opportunities as her male counterparts.

“Why BCCI is able to have a pay parity now is because for a long time the (women’s) team has been doing well. They have gradually started to market it because the team is giving results and marketing helped to let people come and watch or probably view it on any platform or television and that’s how you got digital rights. Other federations also need to do that,” she said.

About her confidence of women’s cricket attracting audiences, Raj said that marketing and timing are important. “If you don’t show the matches in prime time and if it is not a weekend, then I’m not sure if we can have crowds turning up for the matches,” she said on the upcoming Women’s Premier League slated for March 2023. However, she if confident about the format. “The WPL definitely will unearth a lot of stars of the future & increase the pool of talent that we have in our domestic structure,” she added.

Barun Das complimented Mithali Raj’s leadership style and drew similarities with his own. On the ultimate episode of the series titled ‘Lessons in Leadership,’ Das asked Raj on her huddle with team members before a match. “Do you tell your team ‘Let’s go and fight’ or do you tell them ‘Let’s go and win’?” he asks. The former captain’s response is sure to go up on pin boards in dressing rooms of cricketing teams the world over.

Duologue with Barun Das featuring Mithali Raj is a new season of four webisodes on News9 Plus.

Internet Industries That Crypto Has Changed Once and For All

0

Over the past few years, the influence of crypto and blockchain on different industries has grown significantly. As more businesses embrace these technologies, they are finding numerous ways to use them to their advantage. Blockchain technology is being used in banking and finance for secure transactions, while cryptocurrencies are becoming increasingly popular as a means of payment.

Additionally, companies in areas such as healthcare and logistics have begun leveraging blockchain-based solutions for improved data security and faster processing times. The increased adoption of crypto assets has also had an impact on global markets by allowing individuals from around the world to access new investment opportunities that were previously unavailable or too expensive due to high transaction fees associated with traditional methods like wire transfers or credit cards. All these points toward a future where crypto and blockchain will continue playing an important role across multiple industries worldwide.

In this article, we will talk about the internet industries which have already been changed by the influence of blockchain. This change is not over and still continues to reflect on the specific markets and companies. Is it a good change or bed, find out down below!

Online Gambling is More Popular with Crypto

Online casinos have made significant improvements to their services since integrating blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Blockchain technology allows for the secure storage of data, making it virtually impossible for anyone to tamper with or manipulate it. This makes online gambling much more secure and trustworthy than ever before. Additionally, by allowing players to use cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin as payment methods on their platforms, online casinos are now able to offer faster payouts at lower fees than traditional banking options can provide – this has been a major benefit for both casino operators and customers alike!

Cryptocurrencies also bring greater anonymity when playing online games which is something that many people value highly in today’s digital world. Overall these advances in blockchain technology have drastically improved the quality of service that is offered by most leading online casinos today. Ensuring a safe experience while still providing an exciting gaming environment where players can win big prizes! The experience is also dependent on the knowledge of gamblers. It was necessary to know how it worked for their next gaming experience. So, the best crypto casino reviews and some of the recommendations played a big role to turn this change in a very positive direction.

So, the appearance of crypto has had a significant impact on the online gambling industry. On one hand, it has allowed for increased transparency and security of transactions, as well as faster payouts and improved customer experience. On the other hand, it can lead to an increase in problem gambling due to its ease of access and anonymity. Ultimately, whether blockchain’s influence on online gambling is positive or negative depends largely on how users choose to use this technology responsibly.

Online Trading – How It Has Changed After Crypto

Blockchain technology has revolutionized the features and trends of online trading markets. By introducing a secure, distributed ledger system, blockchain provides an immutable record of all transactions that occur in any given market. This allows for increased transparency and trust between buyers and sellers while also making it easier to track the flow of assets within a marketplace.

Additionally, blockchain-based smart contracts enable automated trade execution which can help reduce costs associated with manual processing or intermediaries such as brokers or escrow services. Ultimately, these advancements have helped create more efficient markets that are better equipped to handle large volumes of data while providing greater security than ever before possible in traditional online trading platforms. By providing a highly liquid marketplace for traders looking to take advantage of price movements between different cryptocurrencies, the crypto trading market provides investors with opportunities that may not have been available before.

In addition to providing access to new markets and investment options, this growing sector also offers greater security due diligence measures than most traditional exchanges do. Making it an attractive choice for those looking for safe ways of diversifying their portfolios amidst volatile economic conditions.

Influence on the Online Payment Sector

The introduction of blockchain technology into the payments sector has had a profound and positive effect on how we make payments. Crypto provides an immutable ledger that records all transactions, making it much more secure than traditional payment methods. This increased security allows for faster and more efficient processing of transactions, as well as reducing fraud due to its decentralized nature. Furthermore, blockchain-based systems are also able to handle larger volumes of data with greater accuracy in comparison with existing payment systems.

As such, the implementation of crypto has enabled businesses to offer their customers better services when it comes to making payments quickly and securely without having to worry about potential fraudulent activities or delays in transaction processing times which can result from using outdated technologies like credit cards or bank transfers.

Disney fires 7,000 employees to make its business Profitable

0

On Wednesday, Walt Disney Company announced a major restructuring, laying off 7,000 employees in an effort to save $5.5 billion in costs and turn its streaming business profitable. The 7,000 job cuts represent approximately 3.6% of Disney’s total workforce. The restructuring, led by newly reinstated CEO Bob Iger, will result in a more cost-effective, coordinated approach to Disney’s operations as the company focuses on its core brands and franchises.

Disney’s restructuring is in response to slowing subscriber growth and increased competition for streaming viewers, as well as activist investor Nelson Peltz’s criticism that the company was overspending on streaming.

Disney will restructure into three segments under the new plan: an entertainment unit that includes film, television, and streaming, a sports-focused ESPN unit, and Disney parks, experiences, and products.

Dinsey
credit: businesstoday

The entertainment division will be led by TV executive Dana Walden and film chief Alan Bergman, while ESPN will be led by Jimmy Pitaro. According to Reuters, this is Disney’s third restructuring in five years and a new chapter in Iger’s leadership, who took over as CEO in 2005. Iger, who will return to the role in November 2022, will now seek to put Disney’s streaming business on a path to growth and profitability while restoring decision-making authority to the company’s creative leaders.

The layoffs come amid a wave of layoffs in the technology and media industries. The year began with unprecedented mass layoffs at some of the world’s largest corporations. Google laid off 12,000 employees, while Amazon laid off 18,000 workers.
