Design Changes: Dual Camera Setup
The official teaser reveals a significant departure from the OnePlus 13R’s triple-camera system. The OnePlus 15R features a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a secondary camera, accompanied by an LED flash. Available in sleek Black and Green colorways with metal frames, the phone retains the signature Plus key on the left side.
Enhanced exposure adjustments of the teaser image confirmed the dual-camera configuration, suggesting OnePlus prioritizes quality over quantity in its camera approach.
Flagship Performance in R Series
The OnePlus 15R is expected to pack either the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, bringing flagship-tier performance to the R-series lineup. The massive 7800-8000mAh battery with 100W or 120W SuperVOOC fast charging ensures all-day power with rapid top-ups.
A 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate delivers buttery-smooth visuals, while an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor enhances security and convenience. Running OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box, the 15R offers the latest software experience from day one.
Availability & Competition
The OnePlus 15R will launch exclusively on Amazon.in, OnePlus India’s online store, and offline retail outlets. Positioned as a performance-focused mid-flagship, it competes directly with upcoming devices like iQOO 15, Realme GT 8 Pro, and OPPO Find X9.
Following the successful OnePlus 15 global launch, the R variant aims to capture the value-flagship segment with aggressive specifications. The December launch timing positions it perfectly for year-end shopping festivities.
With confirmed Android 16 and OxygenOS 16, substantial battery capacity, and flagship-grade processor options, the OnePlus 15R promises to shake up India’s competitive smartphone market. Stay tuned for official specifications and pricing at TechnoSports.
