Exclusive Leak: OnePlus 12 Camera Specs Revealed with Periscope Zoom Lens Ahead of Launch

The OnePlus 12 is anticipated to be released globally, including in India, in January next year. Though the launch is several months away, a Chinese informant has leaked information about the phone’s camera. The successor to the OnePlus 11 5G is rumored to have a Hasselblad-branded triple rear camera system, highlighted by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX9xx 1/1.4-inch primary camera.

The OnePlus 11 5G from the previous year also boasted a comparable triple rear camera configuration with a 50-megapixel setup. The OnePlus 12 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and come with a 5,400mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

A known tipster, Digital Chat Station, leaked the OnePlus 12’s camera details on Weibo. According to the leak, the upcoming device will have a Hasselblad-branded triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX9xx 1/1.4-inch primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope camera with 3x optical zoom.

The camera arrangement seems to offer a minor improvement over the OnePlus 11 5G’s triple rear camera setup, which included a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor featuring optical image stabilization (OIS), a 48-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera using a Sony IMX581 sensor, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera equipped with a Sony IMX709 sensor.

The OnePlus 12 has been a subject of speculation for some time, and a recent leak provided further details about its specifications. The phone is said to run on Android 14 with OxygenOS 14 on top and may come with a 6.7-inch fluid LTPO AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

Powering the device is expected to be Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, along with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. For selfies, the OnePlus 12 is rumored to feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera in a hole-punch cutout on the display.

The phone is also said to include an alert slider and an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication. Additionally, the OnePlus 12 is anticipated to come equipped with a 5,400mAh battery, supporting rapid 100W wired charging as well as 50W wireless charging capabilities.
