One Piece Chapter 1163: The Tragic Truth Behind Rocks D. Xebec’s Death at God Valley

After years of speculation, One Piece Chapter 1163 finally unveils the heartbreaking truth behind Rocks D. Xebec’s fate at God Valley. What fans thought was a simple defeat by Roger and Garp turns out to be a devastating tragedy orchestrated by Imu, the supreme ruler of the world. The revelation transforms Rocks from a villain into one of the most tragic characters in One Piece history.

God Valley Incident: Key Details

Imu Descends to God Valley

The chapter opens with a shocking development: Imu descended to God Valley by possessing St. Saturn’s monster form. The supreme ruler believed Rocks D. Xebec to be Davy Jones, the legendary figure they had been hunting for centuries.

Xebec referenced a promise made by Davy, which became the catalyst for Imu’s decision to erase the entire Davy clan from existence. This wasn’t just about defeating a pirate—it was about eliminating a bloodline that threatened the World Government’s foundations.

The Impossible Battle

When Imu and Rocks clashed, the sheer power difference became evident. No matter how many times Rocks slashed Imu, they regenerated instantly. Even more shocking, all the legends—Roger, Garp, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom—combined their strength for a devastating attack against Imu.

The result? Imu emerged completely unscathed, regenerating from what should have been a fatal blow. This moment established Imu as potentially the strongest being in the One Piece universe.

The Checkmate Move: Domi Reversi

During the chaotic battle, Imu shifted the conversation to Rocks’ wife, Eris D. Teach, and their son (later revealed to be Blackbeard), who were escaping the island. Imu declared they couldn’t be allowed to survive.

This psychological warfare broke Rocks’ focus. The pirate who faced death fearlessly couldn’t bear the thought of his family being hunted. That’s when Imu executed their ultimate move.

Rocks Becomes Imu’s Puppet

Using tendrils from their body, Imu stabbed Rocks and commanded him to kill his own wife and son. Before anyone could comprehend what was happening, Imu unleashed “Domi Reversi”—transforming Rocks into a demonic soldier under their complete control.

Unlike the transformation of giants like Dorry and Brogy (which required magic circles), Rocks’ conversion happened instantly. Fans theorize this ability exploits a person’s deepest fears or anxieties, similar to Big Mom’s Soru Soru no Mi power that steals life spans from terrified victims.

Why Roger and Garp Teamed Up

Now we understand why Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp formed their legendary alliance. They weren’t just fighting to defeat Rocks—they were fighting to stop a demon-possessed warrior from murdering his own family.

The other legends likely fell to demonic Rocks’ overwhelming power, leaving only Roger and Garp standing. Their teamwork wasn’t about glory—it was about preventing an unspeakable tragedy.

The Blackbeard Connection

The most intriguing revelation is that Blackbeard is Rocks D. Xebec’s son. Since Blackbeard exists in the current timeline, he obviously survived God Valley. However, this strongly suggests that his mother, Eris D. Teach, didn’t make it out alive—potentially killed by her possessed husband in the upcoming chapters.

This explains Blackbeard’s mysterious connection to the Rocks legacy and adds layers to his character that fans have speculated about for years.
