IMU’s Descent: The Moment We’ve Been Waiting For

For years, fans speculated about IMU’s true power and appearance. Chapter 1162 finally delivers. IMU doesn’t walk onto the battlefield—they descend like an actual god. The artwork is absolutely stunning, capturing an otherworldly presence that radiates authority.

This isn’t just about showing up. Oda is emphasizing that IMU exists on a completely different power level. The sheer presence forces characters to reckon with reality. This is the being that created the entire world government system. This is the endgame villain.

The Possession Twist: Nobody Saw This Coming

Here’s where Chapter 1162 gets absolutely wild. IMU doesn’t just fight—they possess an unexpected character. We’re not spoiling who, but the reveal recontextualizes everything. This character’s motivations, backstory, and loyalty suddenly make terrifying sense.

The possession mechanism itself is fascinating. It’s not mind control—it’s something far more sinister. IMU literally overwrites the host’s consciousness. The implications? Massive. How many characters might be under IMU’s influence? How long has this been happening?

Alliance Formations: The Resistance Unites

With IMU at God Valley, the heroes can’t fight alone. Chapter 1162 shows various factions recognizing the existential threat and actually working together. Enemies become temporary allies. Former rivals coordinate strategy.

This mirrors the final war vibes. When the ultimate enemy appears, petty conflicts become irrelevant. We’re seeing the story pivot toward its true endgame.

Power Level Revelations: The Scaling Just Got Insane

Oda reveals IMU’s true combat capabilities, and fans’ power scaling debates are officially over. IMU operates at a level that makes even the strongest characters look like side quests. No cheap tricks, no gimmicks—just overwhelming power.

But here’s the key: power levels don’t tell the whole story. Strategy, alliance, and cunning might matter more than raw strength. That’s what makes this compelling.

Flashback Sequences: Filling Plot Holes

Chapter 1162 includes flashback scenes that finally explain lingering mysteries. God Valley’s actual history? Revealed. Ancient conflicts? Clarified. These aren’t filler—they’re essential lore expansion that makes the current conflict hit harder.

Oda’s connecting dots we didn’t even know existed. It’s masterful storytelling.

The Cliffhanger: Pure Genius

The chapter ends on an absolutely brutal cliffhanger. A character makes a choice that changes everything. The next chapter can’t come soon enough.

This is peak serialization. Oda knows how to leave you desperate for more.

What This Means for One Piece’s Future

Chapter 1162 confirms we’re entering the final saga. The story is compressing. Conflicts are escalating. Every character’s arc is converging toward this moment. Oda isn’t dragging things out—he’s accelerating toward the conclusion.

This doesn’t mean the series ends tomorrow. But the trajectory is clear. We’re heading toward something massive, and God Valley is where everything culminates.

A: Chapter 1162 doesn’t clarify this entirely, which is intentional. Oda’s leaving it ambiguous to fuel theories. Based on the mechanics revealed, temporary seems more likely, but implications suggest deeper complications. This mystery will likely unfold across multiple chapters.
