Netflix’s most-anticipated romantic comedy of the summer is officially here. Office Romance — starring Jennifer Lopez and Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein — began streaming globally on June 5, 2026, and it is exactly the kind of feel-good, slightly raunchy escape the internet needed this weekend.

Office Romance OTT Release: Everything at a Glance

What Is Office Romance About?

The story centres on Jackie Cruz (Lopez), an influential and highly disciplined CEO whose biggest rule is that employees are absolutely not allowed to date each other. However, her own rule is put to the test when a charming and witty new lawyer named Daniel Blanchflower joins the office. Despite the strict company policies, strong feelings develop between the two workaholics — and they soon enter into a secret relationship, struggling to hide their love while balancing heavy professional duties.

Classic forbidden romance. Except this time, the boss is Jennifer Lopez — and the lawyer is the foul-mouthed, awkward, utterly loveable Roy Kent himself.

Why This Film Was Written for J.Lo

Brett Goldstein wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Lopez specifically in mind. “It was Joe Kelly and me who wrote it, and we were on a train,” he revealed, explaining how the idea of J.Lo as a power CEO with a secret soft spot clicked instantly.

The pairing of Lopez’s commanding presence with Goldstein’s awkward, heartfelt energy is unexpected — and that is exactly what makes it worth watching. The film promises a collision of Lopez’s polished charm and Goldstein’s signature deadpan humour, plus a whole lot of language and graphic nudity.

The Supporting Cast Is Deep

Director Ol Parker stacked the bench. “There’s a real thrill for me, about 35 minutes into the movie: You cut to the HR door of Air Cruz, and behind it, there’s Tony Hale,” Parker said. “You’re like, ‘Oh, that is a deep bench.’ Even later in the film, there’s Amy Sedaris. And I’ve just always thought Betty Gilpin is a genius. Everyone kept saying yes to this project.”

Edward James Olmos — who previously played Jennifer Lopez’s father in Selena — also appears, and Amy Sedaris previously starred alongside Lopez in Maid in Manhattan. The casting is full of deliberate, affectionate nods to J.Lo’s own cinematic history.

Where to Watch in India

Office Romance streams exclusively on Netflix in India and across all international territories, including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, from June 5, 2026. No theatrical release. No waiting. Just press play.
