The PC as you know it just changed. At NVIDIA GTC Taipei / Computex 2026, Jensen Huang unveiled the RTX Spark — a new superchip that doesn’t just upgrade your Windows PC, it transforms it from a tool you use into a teammate that works for you. This is the most significant shift in personal computing in decades, and if you own or plan to buy a laptop or desktop in 2026, this announcement is directly relevant to you.

Your PC Now Has a Brain of Its Own
The headline feature isn’t the raw specs — it’s what RTX Spark does with them. Powered by a Blackwell GPU and 20-core Grace CPU connected via NVIDIA’s NVLink-C2C interconnect, RTX Spark can run 120-billion-parameter language models with 1 million tokens of context — entirely on device, no cloud required.
Jensen Huang put it plainly: “For forty years, you launched apps. Click. Type. With RTX Spark and Microsoft Windows, you ask — and the PC does the work.”
That’s not marketing. It’s a genuine architectural shift.

Security Built In — Not Bolted On
The biggest concern with local AI agents has always been privacy. NVIDIA and Microsoft have tackled this head-on. New Windows security primitives provide identity, containment and policy controls, while NVIDIA OpenShell lets users define exactly what agents can and cannot access — including the ability to mask personal data before any query reaches a cloud model.
Popular agent platforms Hermes Agent and OpenClaw are already building native Windows apps on top of this stack. This means on-device agents that can execute tasks across apps, search local files, write code, and generate media — all without a single byte leaving your machine without your permission.
Creators and Gamers Win Too
RTX Spark isn’t purely an AI story. Adobe is rebuilding Photoshop and Premiere from the ground up for the chip, delivering 2x faster AI and graphics performance across creative workflows including Generative Fill, Generative Extend, and real-time colour correction. Blackmagic Design, Blender, CapCut, ComfyUI, and OTOY are all onboard.
For gamers, RTX Spark handles AAA titles at 1440p and 100+ FPS with full ray tracing, DLSS, and Reflex — in a laptop that’s as slim as 14mm. Compact desktops with the same chip offer creators and developers a deskside AI supercomputer footprint. Who’s Making RTX Spark Devices?
Every major PC brand is in. Dell’s XPS 16 Creator Edition, HP’s OmniBook line, Lenovo’s AI device portfolio, ASUS, MSI, and Microsoft’s own Surface Laptop Ultra are all launching RTX Spark models this Fall 2026. Acer and GIGABYTE follow shortly after.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella summed it up: “Our goal is to deliver unmetered intelligence to every home and every desk with Windows. RTX Spark marks a real breakthrough towards that vision.”
