NVIDIA global headquarters Taiwan: In a major move signaling its deepening ties with Asia’s tech powerhouse, NVIDIA is expected to unveil Taiwan as the site for its new global headquarters next week. Why Taiwan?

Taiwan has long been a central player in NVIDIA’s operations, primarily due to its strategic partnership with TSMC, the world’s leading chip manufacturer. TSMC produces NVIDIA’s cutting-edge AI GPUs that dominate global markets. The new headquarters will reinforce this collaboration, further embedding NVIDIA in the ecosystem that powers its innovation.

According to reports, Taipei will host the new headquarters, though the exact site is still under wraps. Insiders suggest five prime locations are under consideration, all over three hectares in size. Top contenders include:

• Taipei City Flower Park
• Taiwan Railway marshaling yard
• Military-owned land near Taipei Songshan Airport
• Mitsui Park-adjacent land
• Taipower utility redevelopment zone

What’s Driving the Decision?

Several factors make Taipei an ideal location for NVIDIA’s global base:

• Strong university network fostering local tech talent
• Efficient public transportation to support employee mobility
• Proximity to TSMC, the linchpin of NVIDIA’s production
• Favorable government support and land offerings

Among the sites, the Flower Park seems to be the front-runner due to its scenic setting and infrastructure readiness. However, there are concerns about the possibility of archaeological findings at the site, which could delay construction.

Other sites come with their own set of challenges. The railway yard and Taipower project involve multi-entity negotiations, while the airport site requires military land transfers—expected to stretch into late 2025. The Mitsui park option lags in connectivity, making daily commutes harder.

AI Takes Center Stage at Computex 2025

This announcement will likely align with Computex’s 2025 theme: “AI Next.” Over 60% of the show’s 4,800 booths are expected to focus on artificial intelligence. With NVIDIA at the forefront of the AI hardware revolution, this timing couldn’t be more fitting.

CEO Jensen Huang, a familiar and revered figure in Taiwan’s tech scene, has had a whirlwind few days—spotted meeting global leaders and now arriving in Taipei to anchor what could be one of the company’s most historic announcements.
