NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU has handsome improvements over RTX 2070 Max-Q

NVIDIA is expected to launch its RTX 30-series GPUs for mobile at this CES 2021, coming in a few days. Meanwhile, TUM_APISAK has spotted the upcoming RTX 3070 mobile GPU on an HP Omen 15 laptop.

It’s almost no brainer that a handful of laptops will be adopting NVIDIA’s upcoming mobile GPUs and this leak suggests HP will follow as well. So, the Omen 15-ek1xxx laptop with Core i7-10870H and 16GB RAM.

The RTX 3070 scored 101,621 points and 110,839 points in two OpenCL tests, making it 36.9% and 49.3% faster than its predecessor RTX 2070 Max-Q, which scored 74,236 points. Also, this score of the RTX 3070 mobile is more than a desktop RTX 2080.

It features 40 CUs, 5120 CUDA cores, 8GB GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit bus. This ought to be the Max-Q variant, so drawing 80-90W of power. Overall, this type of graphics performance paired with a stronger Intel Tiger Lake-H and Ryzen 5000H processors will indeed be a lucrative for gamers this year.
