The Vision Behind the New Season

Speaking about the creative direction for Season 3, co-showrunner Jenni Konner said the team’s guiding idea was making the season “feel like Champagne.” Creator Erin Foster echoed that approach, explaining that any new storyline pitched had to match that light, bubbly tone or it would be dropped entirely.

Foster also spoke about keeping the central relationship playful, noting that Joanne and Noah’s fun, flirty dynamic is central to why audiences connect with them, even as their relationship becomes more settled. Co-showrunner Bruce Eric Kaplan added that this season finally lets Morgan and Sasha confront the tension that has existed between them for some time.

A Quick Turnaround From Season 2

Season 3 arrives less than a year after Season 2, which was renewed by Netflix in November 2025. The show’s second season performed strongly for the streamer, holding the number one spot on Netflix’s English-language TV chart for two consecutive weeks and drawing 18 million views in its first 11 days. It also reached the Top 10 in 82 countries and helped push Season 1 back onto the Top 10 list, where it has spent eight weeks in total across 89 countries.
