Nobara’s Return Is Absolutely Necessary in Jujutsu Kaisen – Sukuna Already Showed Why

The world of Jujutsu Kaisen has been turned upside down by the devastating power of Ryomen Sukuna, whose complete control over Megumi Fushiguro’s body has left the sorcerers scrambling for a way to fight back. Nobara, who was seemingly killed by Mahito in the Shibuya Incident arc, has been conspicuously absent from the story—but recent developments suggest her comeback might not just be wishful thinking. In fact, Sukuna’s latest abilities highlight exactly why Nobara’s unique cursed technique could be the key to turning the tide against the King of Curses.

From her Resonance ability to her unbreakable spirit, Nobara’s potential return isn’t just about fan service—it could be the strategic advantage Yuji and the others desperately need. Let’s break down why her reappearance is more necessary than ever.

Jujutsu Kaisen Sukuna’s New Power: Why Nobara’s Technique Is the Perfect Counter

Sukuna’s dominance in Jujutsu Kaisen has reached terrifying new heights. With Megumi’s body fully under his control, he now wields the Ten Shadows Technique alongside his own devastating cursed energy. This combination makes him nearly unstoppable—but Nobara’s Resonance ability could exploit a critical weakness.

How Resonance Works:

• Nobara’s technique allows her to attack a target remotely by linking them to a voodoo-like doll or body part.
• If she had a piece of Sukuna’s original body (or even Megumi’s), she could bypass his defenses and strike directly.

Given that Sukuna’s soul is now split between his original fingers and Megumi’s body, Nobara’s ability to attack the soul itself could be the perfect counter to his fragmented existence.

The Narrative Necessity of Nobara’s Return

Beyond the tactical advantage, Nobara’s return would serve three crucial storytelling purposes:

1. Emotional Payoff for Yuji

Yuji has suffered immense loss—his mentor, Gojo, is sealed, and his best friend, Megumi, is possessed. Nobara’s revival would give him a much-needed emotional anchor in the fight ahead.

2. A Thematic Full Circle

Nobara’s defiance against curses like Mahito, who toyed with human souls, mirrors Sukuna’s own disregard for humanity. Her return would bring a poetic confrontation between someone who values individuality and a monster who sees people as tools.

3. Filling the Power Vacuum

With Gojo still sealed and many top-tier sorcerers dead or incapacitated, the heroes need every strong fighter they can get. Nobara’s growth during her absence (if she trained or unlocked new abilities) could make her a vital asset.

Clues Hinting at Nobara’s Survival

While her fate remains officially unconfirmed, several subtle hints suggest Nobara might still be alive:

• Arata’s Mysterious Words: In Chapter 125, Arata told Yuji that Nobara’s condition was “not hopeless,” leaving the door open for recovery.
• Gege Akutami’s Ambiguity: The author has carefully avoided confirming her death, unlike other characters whose fates were made explicitly clear.
• Themes of Resurrection: Jujutsu Kaisen has explored revival before (e.g., Toji Fushiguro), making Nobara’s return plausible.

Conclusion

Nobara Kugisaki’s return isn’t just a fan hope—it’s a narrative necessity. With Sukuna’s overwhelming power threatening to destroy everything, her unique abilities and indomitable spirit could be exactly what the sorcerers need to turn the tide. Whether through a dramatic revival or a hidden training arc, Nobara’s comeback would be one of the most impactful moments in Jujutsu Kaisen.
