India’s top football league has a new brand backer. Nippon Paint is set to become the Official Paint Partner of the MG Indian Super League (ISL) under a multi-year partnership, starting with the 2026-27 season. It is the brand’s entry into the league and a boost for ISL’s commercial push.

Deal Details

DetailInformation
PartnerNippon Paint
RoleOfficial Paint Partner of MG ISL
Reported valueAbout ₹3.8 crore over two years (₹1.8 crore + ₹2 crore)

The value comes from media reports, not an official statement. The announcement describes the deal as a “proposed” partnership.

The 11 Clubs on Board

The association extends to Chennaiyin FC, Churchill Brothers FC, East Bengal FC, FC Goa, Inter Kashi FC, Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC, NorthEast United FC, Odisha FC, Punjab FC and Sporting Club Delhi.

Who Is Missing?

Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Bengaluru FC are not part of the package, because both already have their own paint partners. According to a report shared on X, having a Bengali club on board was critical for the deal to go through, which explains why East Bengal is part of it.

What They Said

Mark Titus, President of Decorative Coatings at Nippon Paint India, said the association reflects the company’s commitment to building meaningful connections with consumers through sport. ISL CEO Karan Yadav said the league was pleased to welcome the brand, calling the deal a sign of the league’s revived commercial progress.

Why It Matters

The announcement follows the return of a title sponsor, MG Motor, after three years. Nippon Paint already backs cricket, football, kabaddi and volleyball in India, so football is a natural next step.
