Netflix Greenlights ‘Funny AF With Kevin Hart’ Season 2 Following Massive Debut

The search for the next major stand-up superstar is officially back on. Following a breakout inaugural season that had audiences roaring with laughter, Netflix has officially renewed the hit reality competition series Funny AF With Kevin Hart for Season 2. The exciting announcement cements the streaming giant’s dedication to premium stand-up comedy and interactive live programming, giving a new class of hungry comedians a shot at a life-changing career milestone.

What to Expect in Season 2

Set to premiere in 2027, the sophomore season will maintain its signature high-stakes, uncensored format. Rising comedians from across the United States will once again step into the spotlight with one primary goal: to make the same massive leap Kevin Hart once made to become a household name.

Season 2 promises to push the boundaries even further. Netflix has confirmed that the upcoming season will feature live episodes culminating in high-stakes final rounds. Furthermore, members watching from home will have the power to crown the ultimate winner through real-time global voting.

Kevin Hart shared his enthusiasm regarding the renewal, emphasizing the core mission of the series. “I’m beyond excited that Funny AF is coming back for season two,” Hart said in a statement. “This show is all about giving hungry, undiscovered comedians the kind of shot I was chasing when I started out — an uncensored stage, a real audience, and the chance to turn a dream into a career. The response to season one has been incredible, and I can’t wait to get back out there, discover more phenomenal talent, and keep raising the bar for stand-up comedy.”

A Breakout First Season and Emmy Buzz

The renewal arrives at a strategic moment as Netflix launches its official Emmy Awards campaign for the debut season. The series is currently eligible for Outstanding Reality Competition Program, while Hart is up for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.

Season 1 was a massive viewership triumph. It remained in the Netflix Top 10 for more than three weeks and built upon Hart’s massive footprint on the streamer. According to Netflix, Kevin Hart titles have generated more than 1 billion views on the platform over the past two years.

The freshman run ultimately crowned Detroit-born comic Ron Taylor as its inaugural winner during the Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026. Taylor walked away with a life-changing cash prize and earned his own dedicated Netflix stand-up special, beating out top-tier finalists Caitlin Peluffo, Usama Siddiquee, and Reg Thomas.
