From Office Desk to the Silver Screen
Let’s be honest — Youn Hyunjae’s story is the kind that makes for a great drama plot in itself. Before becoming a household name through Single’s Inferno 5 on Netflix, he was simply an office worker who had previously placed as first runner-up at Mister International Korea 2022. He had the looks, clearly, but an entertainment career wasn’t yet on the cards.
That changed when Single’s Inferno 5 put him in front of millions of viewers worldwide. His personality, charm, and appearance made an immediate impression — and agencies noticed.
OUTER UNIVERSE, the agency that also manages actors Kim Young Dae and Chae Won Bin, wasted no time. In their official statement, they said they were drawn to Youn Hyunjae’s fresh aura and described him as an artist with his own unique color — someone capable of pulling off a wide variety of genres thanks to his versatile look and already-warm public image.
Why This Signing Makes Perfect Sense
Single’s Inferno has a strong track record of launching real entertainment careers. The Netflix reality dating format has consistently produced stars who successfully transition into mainstream Korean entertainment — and Youn Hyunjae looks like the next in line to make that leap.
The agency plans to support him through systematic training and gradual content rollouts, with the goal of building him up as a credible actor rather than simply capitalising on his current buzz. That long-term mindset is exactly what a fresh face needs to turn a viral moment into a lasting career.
