Here’s something that gets overlooked in K-pop discourse: a group’s first full-length album is the statement moment. It’s where they prove they’re not a flash-in-the-pan project—it’s where they establish legitimacy. And NCT WISH? They’re about to make that statement in April, and honestly, the wait has been agonizing. After two years since their debut and seven months since their last release, SM Entertainment’s rising group is ready to show the world what they’ve been building.

NCT’s Comeback Timeline: Why April 20 Is Game-Changing

Milestone	Date
NCT WISH Debut	February 2024
Last Release (COLOR)	September 1, 2025
First Full-Length Album	April 20, 2026
Time Since Debut	~2 years
Gap Since Last Release	~7 months
Agency	SM Entertainment
Album Type	Studio Full-Length

Let’s be real: seven months is an eternity in K-pop cycles. Fans have been in a holding pattern, scrolling through COLOR performances on YouTube, waiting for something. That something arrives April 20, and it’s their first full-length studio album—a watershed moment for any music group.

Why Their First Full Album Is Different

Mini albums are appetizers. EPs are teasers. But a full-length album? That’s the entrée. It means NCT WISH has enough material, enough vision, and enough confidence to sustain a complete listening experience. This isn’t 4-6 tracks anymore—this is a complete artistic statement. The fact that SM Entertainment waited two years to release this signals they were building something intentional, not rushing to capitalize on debut momentum.

What This Means for Fans and the Industry

The April 20 release date is strategically smart. Spring is when K-pop traditionally heats up—it’s when groups position themselves for summer promotions, music show appearances, and potential world tours. NCT WISH’s timing suggests SM is thinking big for this cycle.

Plus, SM Entertainment doesn’t do lazy rollouts. When they confirm a comeback, they deliver. The “goal of April 20” language from their statement means everything is locked in—tracklist, concept, music video, choreography. This group has been quietly working while you weren’t paying attention, and now they’re about to remind everyone why they signed to one of K-pop’s Big Three agencies.
