What happens when two people fall in love — but they’re both already married to someone else? And what if it’s actually their spouses who fall for each other? That’s the kind of gut-punch premise only Karan Johar can pull off. Nazdeekiyan is an upcoming Prime Video India series from Dharmatic Entertainment — and according to Variety, it is an adaptation of Johar’s iconic 2006 film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, retelling it for today’s streaming audiences. Plot — What Is Nazdeekiyan About?
The series centres on two couples whose lives become intertwined after a workplace connection alters the course of their relationships. When Seher and Abhay begin working together, their spouses Ved and Meera unexpectedly develop a relationship of their own — forcing all four characters to navigate the tension between loyalty and desire. It’s messy, real, and deeply human. Duty vs. longing. Love vs. commitment. The questions Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna raised in theatres are back — this time with more time, more nuance, and no interval.
Cast & Why This Line-Up Works-
At the heart of the series is Taaha Shah Badusha, who called joining the project a full-circle journey — having previously worked with Dharma on Gippi and later with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Heeramandi. He is joined by Paresh Pahuja, Aakanksha Singh, and Nikita Dutta, bringing together an ensemble built around emotional range and contemporary sensibility. Business Standard
This is a cast that can hold silence as well as it delivers dialogue — exactly what a show about unspoken feelings demands.
Amazon Prime Video has consistently been home to India’s boldest relationship dramas, and with KJo’s production muscle and a sharply relevant premise, Nazdeekiyan already feels like one of 2026’s most-anticipated releases.
