Here’s the scoop: Mitchell Starc Ends IPL Hiatus

A Million-Dollar Decision

Mitchell Starc opted out of the IPL since 2015, prioritizing international commitments, battling injuries, and spending quality time with family. This decision potentially cost him more than $10 million in personal earnings.

The Remarkable 2015

In 2015, Starc played a pivotal role in Australia’s World Cup victory and featured in 14 IPL matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Unfortunately, a foot stress fracture in Adelaide ended his IPL journey that year. The Australian team’s reduced commitments in 2024 have given Starc the confidence to return to IPL action. IPL 2024 will serve as an excellent lead-up to the ICC T20 World Cup.

Valuable Preparation: IPL 2024

Starc sees the IPL as crucial preparation for the T20 World Cup scheduled in the West Indies and the USA in June. It provides an ideal platform to gauge interest and fine-tune his skills. The upcoming year promises a lighter workload for Australia, with only the T20 World Cup on the horizon. This opens up a perfect window for Starc to return to the IPL, considering Australia’s demanding multi-format schedule.

IPL Legacy

Starc featured in 27 IPL matches across two seasons, initially with RCB and later with KKR in 2018. His exceptional pace and skill make him a potential hot pick in the IPL 2024 auction.

Mitchell Starc’s comeback could add fireworks to the IPL 2024 auction, with franchises vying for this proven T20 superstar. The anticipation is palpable as fans eagerly await his return to the world’s most exciting T20 league. Will he break records in the auction? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for the IPL 2024 extravaganza, featuring none other than Mitchell Starc!
