What’s the Story?

A small woodland mammal and a majestic bird — two natural sworn enemies of The Valley — accidentally magically swap bodies after crashing into a magical plant, and set off on an adventure of a lifetime while bonding together and helping the woodland animals. Wikipedia

Think Freaky Friday meets a breathtaking wildlife documentary. After the body-swap mishap, Ollie and Ivy are stuck in each other’s worlds, forced to team up, deal with all the dangers of the ecosystem, and survive a bizarre journey that gradually changes their viewpoints and requires them to join forces. The story carries themes of empathy, cooperation, and seeing the world through someone else’s eyes — wrapped in an adventure comedy that works equally well for kids and adults. Sportskeeda

The film is a body swap narrative at its core, but its wild ecosystem setting — where creatures of the valley exist on a spectrum between plant and animal — makes it feel unlike anything audiences have seen in the genre before. Netflix Tudum

Why This Film Deserves Your Attention?

Director Nathan Greno — the man behind Tangled — brings genuine animation pedigree to the project, and his enthusiasm for the voice cast is palpable. Greno praised Jordan and Temple for bringing “warmth and authenticity” to the film, saying every moment between them feels alive — funny one second, deeply moving the next, with their chemistry giving Swapped its wings. The production muscle behind it is equally impressive — producers include Skydance heavyweights John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews, with an original score by Emmy-nominated composer Siddhartha Khosla. What’s on Netflix
