Swapped Is About To Do What Only KPop Demon Hunters Has Done Before

Not every animated movie sticks around this long. Netflix’s Swapped just crossed the 70-day mark of its run and, rather than fading out, it’s closing in on a spot in the platform’s all-time top 10 movies list — a milestone only a handful of titles ever reach.

Swapped : The Numbers Behind The Milestone

Just 73 days after its global premiere, the Michael B. Jordan-led body-swap comedy has racked up 226.9 million viewing hours and 133.5 million completed views. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos confirmed during the company’s Q2 2026 earnings call that Swapped is on track to become the second-biggest original animated film ever, trailing only KPop Demon Hunters.

Swapped : Overview

The 10-Week Climb

Swapped opened at #2 globally in its debut weekend, but strong word-of-mouth pushed it to a 149% jump in week two, taking the top spot with 38.7 million views. What’s most impressive is its staying power: the film has held a spot in the global Top 5 for ten consecutive weeks straight, a rare feat for any streaming release, animated or otherwise.

Why This Matters

Netflix calculates its “Most Popular” rankings using views collected over a title’s first 91 days on the platform. With Swapped at day 73, it still has about 18 days left to close the gap, and internal projections suggest it’ll land around seventh on the all-time list by the time that window closes in early August. That would make it only the second 2026 English-language film to break into the all-time charts, following War Machine.

Much of the credit goes to its cast chemistry, with Michael B. Jordan, known for acclaimed performances in Creed and Black Panther, and his frequent collaborations with director Ryan Coogler, bringing star power that clearly resonated with family audiences worldwide.
