Medulance aims to provide faster 5G Hospital on Wheels services to provide ambulance in 20 minutes

Medulance, a Delhi-based startup, has stepped in to address the issue of Ambulance reaching late to Indians. I mean, even a pizza is delivered faster than the arrivance of the Ambulance. But, Medulance is aiming to provide rapid ambulance services in less time than it takes to get groceries from instant delivery services like Blinkit or Zepto.

Medulance claims to provide an ambulance in 20 minutes on average by leveraging Jio’s 5G network. They accomplish this by managing traffic while also ensuring that 100% of calls to their helpline are answered. Medulance also connects users with ambulance drivers via its technology platform. MeduERS (Stationed Ambulance Service), MeduClinic (Medical Room Service), and MeduAlert are its three services (Corporate employee coverage, including 4 family members).

The startup’s 5G ambulances function like a hospital on wheels allowing video consultations with doctors, paramedics and healthcare workers besides real-time streaming of patient health data – thus providing medical assistance during the critical ‘golden hour’. According to Medulance, 50% of the 1.51 lakh fatalities caused by road accidents in 2018 could have been avoided if timely assistance had been provided.

In the period 2019-2021, the startup grew by 300%. It grew twofold the following year, according to Pranav Bajaj, co-founder of Medulance. Medulance, which was founded in 2017, is now present in over 60 cities, has a fleet of 7,500 vehicles, and over 8 million subscribers.

The funds will be used to help the company enter the market more quickly and to improve ambulance management technology. He added that the organisation hopes to raise $1-$1.5 million in the next 8-9 months and to establish a paramedic training institute. Medulance’s goal is to reach a revenue of 100 crores within the next two years. The company made 24 crore in sales in FY22 and expects to make 40 crore in FY23.
