Marc Overmars has been suspended from FIFA 22 after recent events led to his exit from Ajax. The former director of the club admitted that he inappropriately messaged female coworkers, and stepped down from his post.
“To the FIFA community, Marc Overmars has been suspended from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team Packs and Ultimate Draft,” Read the message from EA Sports.
“As such, Marc Overmars ICON items will no longer be made available in Packs, SBCs and FUT Draft, and their range in the Transfer Market has been fixed until further notice. The FIFA Team.”

The icon’s FIFA 22 cards won’t be available on the game until further notice, but players can add him in their team if they already possess his icon card.
Marc Overmars cards can be sold if players already have him in their game as well. EA have not deleted him from the game just yet. But, there is no certainty about the future surrounding the former Ajax director just yet.
Recent events in the footballing world off the pitch have resulted in a lot of conversations about the personal lives of the players. Kurt Zouma has been left in the game despite the recent backlash for animal cruelty. On the other hand, Mason Greenwood has been completely removed from the game after he was arrested.
There is a clear gap in the degree of action that is being taken against players for their actions off the pitch. But, fans are also debating whether or not footballers’ actions away from the game should affect their availability in FIFA, or their career as a whole.
