Manchester United transfer news: Sheikh Jassim makes 4th bid for 100% ownership
Sheikh Jassim has recently presented a fourth bid to acquire Manchester United, entering into direct competition with Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The chairman of Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has proposed an offer that surpasses the previous £5 billion bid, although it falls short of the Glazers’ desired price of £6 billion.
Since the beginning, Qatar’s bid has been aimed at acquiring the entire 100% ownership of the club, which would result in the complete removal of the Glazer family from the equation. On the other hand, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s bid involves allowing the Glazers to retain approximately a 20% stake in the club. His strategy entails gradually buying out their shares over time, and reports suggest that his bid exceeds that of Sheikh Jassim’s in terms of value.
