Arsenal have agreed a deal worth £60 million upfront plus £5 million in add-ons for Kai Havertz. The Germany international has agreed to a five-year contract, and his arrival has now been confirmed by the club.

Havertz made it clear that he wants to play for Arsenal, which made it easier for the move to go through. And now, he has become the first new signing for Mikel Arteta’s side this summer.

Declan Rice is set to join Arsenal, with West Ham accepting the club record bid worth £105 million to sign the midfielder, which would also make him the most expensive Englishman of all-time.

Personal terms are not an issue, and the Gunners are set to close the deal imminently for Rice. They were threatened by a bid from Manchester City to sign the player, but the treble winners have withdrawn their interest, leaving Arsenal free to sign their top target.

Arsenal are set to make an opening offer for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia soon. The club have kept contacts with the player’s camp over the last few weeks, but there is interest from several other clubs as well. As a result, the club will have to hurry as Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in signing the player after Southampton’s relegation. 

Manchester City are not expected to join the race this summer as their buyback clause in valid only from 2024.

Xhaka has agreed to sign for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, and a €15 million deal is in place between the two clubs for the Swiss international to exit. In addition, Thomas Partey is also expected to leave the club, with several clubs interested in signing him. 

Partey’s contract runs out in 2025, and there have been internal discussions over sanctioning an exit for him. The midfielder has received proposals from Saudi Arabia, but prefers a move to Juventus as things stand. An important bid will be needed for Arsenal to sell him as things stand.

Ajax midfielder Jurrien Timber is one of the priority midfield targets for Arsenal, and the club is set to make their second bid for him soon, with the offer expected to be worth over €40 million. The player has agreed personal terms for the move and considers Mikel Arteta’s project as the best one for his future. However, the two clubs need to find an agreement over the fee for the transfer to go through.

Arsenal and William Saliba have reached an agreement over a contract renewal until 2027. The centre-back’s new deal will also have the option to renew until 2028, and the paperwork will be signed when he comes back from holiday near the start of the season. 

There were several European clubs interested in signing the defender as his previous contract was set to expire in 2024. But, he has committed his future to North London and will be staying with them for years to come.
