The Miracle Birth That Changed Everything

Nick Jonas shared that Malti arrived unexpectedly early, born via surrogate at just 27 weeks. “We got to the hospital and she came out one pound, 11 ounces — purple basically,” he recalled. NICU nurses resuscitated her immediately, and over the following three and a half months, Nick and Priyanka took 12-hour shifts at the hospital every day. After six blood transfusions, she began to gain weight and finally came home — about 110 days after her birth.

Priyanka described it as deeply traumatic: “She was my miracle baby, so everything just stopped when she was born. I’m still in constant fear — it’s a preemie mom thing.” PRIMETIMER

A Born Performer With a Huge Personality

Priyanka told Marie Claire: “She’s in the middle of a room just telling her jokes and singing at the top of her voice. She’s the greatest gift of my life. All my priorities have changed. Everything starts and ends with her.” Movie Locations

Malti has a strong sense of music — Priyanka revealed APT is her favourite song. She is also into karate and piano, and has a sharp sense of style. When Priyanka and Nick dressed up for the Golden Globes, Malti told them they were “going to a ball” and called her mum a princess.

Why Priyanka Keeps Malti Out of the Spotlight

Priyanka revealed she and Nick have decided to share less as Malti grows older: “She moves around a lot — let her have as much anonymity as she can. It is her normal and I never want her to be fearful. I chose a public life. She didn’t.” IMDb Malti was even once followed home from school by someone recording her — prompting the family to regularly hire security.
