1. I, Nobody — A Heist Gone Horribly Personal
Prithviraj Sukumaran leads this gripping thriller as Rajeevan, an ordinary employee who gets caught inside a bank during a massive Rs 17-crore robbery. When the robbers die, he’s left holding the blame — and the money. As his marriage crumbles and his daughter Jia is kidnapped, Rajeevan is forced into a desperate, secret alliance to save his family and clear his name. Directed by Nissam Basheer, it also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu.
2. Kerala Underground — Rap Battles With Real Stakes
If reality TV with an edge is your thing, this one’s fresh. Hosted by Aathira Rajeev, the show throws 10 rising Malayalam rappers into fierce battles, raw storytelling rounds, and elimination rounds, all fighting for the title of Kerala’s underground rap champion. Think grit, bars, and genuine talent — not scripted drama.
3. Lurk — When the Forest Fights Back
Directed by MA Nishad and led by Saiju Kurup, Lurk dives into the very real man-animal conflict plaguing villages near Kerala’s forest borders. Inspired by true incidents, it follows communities caught between survival and shrinking wilderness, quietly asking the film’s most haunting question — who’s really the predator here? A tense watch, and a timely one too, echoing India’s long-documented wildlife conflict issues detailed on Wikipedia.
4. Pluto — An Alien Comedy With Heart
Neeraj Madhav plays Vicky, a chronically unlucky guy whose life takes a wild turn when an alien crash-lands near his Kerala village. He names the visitor Pluto, only to realize the extraterrestrial is just as clueless as he is. Their odd-couple friendship gets chaotic fast once a local businessman tries to capture Pluto for profit, kicking off a fun, heartfelt chase to get him home.
