Made in Korea 2: Hyun Bin’s Rematch With Jung Woo Sung Is Coming This September

Nine years after Season 1 left off, Disney+’s “Made in Korea 2” is back with a teaser that promises an even bigger power struggle — and a long-awaited rematch.

Where We Left Off, and Where It’s Headed

Season 1 followed Baek Ki Tae (Hyun Bin), a man consumed by ambition for wealth and power, against prosecutor Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung), who sacrificed everything to stop him during a turbulent chapter of 1970s Korea. Season 2 picks up nine years later, with Baek Ki Tae now sitting at the very peak of power, Jang Geon Young quietly preparing his counterattack, and Baek Ki Hyun (Woo Do Hwan) — Ki Tae’s younger brother — carving out his own, very different path to power.

The newly unveiled poster shows Baek Ki Tae now serving as a director, his nameplate signaling just how far his influence has expanded since the Season 1 finale. The tagline, translated as “Remember. We are doing this for patriotism,” hints at the grander, more dangerous ambitions driving his next move.

What Made in Korea 2 Teaser Reveals?

The clip opens with Baek Ki Tae in the presidential office, declaring he’s “waited a very long time for this moment.” From there, the teaser leans into escalating tension — new factions emerging, military forces moving to keep the Korean Central Intelligence Agency in check, and Baek Ki Hyun positioning himself directly against his older brother. And of course, the return of Jang Geon Young sets up the rematch fans have been waiting for since his Season 1 defeat.

Made in Korea 2: Overview

While fans wait for the premiere, Hyun Bin’s film “Harbin” and Jung Woo Sung’s “12.12: The Day” are both worth revisiting to get back into the era’s high-stakes political tension.
