Maa Behen on Netflix: Madhuri Dixit & Triptii Dimri’s Dark Comedy Is the Most Unexpected Bollywood Duo of 2026

If you thought you’d seen every side of Madhuri Dixit, think again. Her new Netflix Original Maa Behen pairs her with the blazing-hot Triptii Dimri in a crime-comedy nobody saw coming — and honestly, that’s exactly why it works.

The premise? A mother and her two daughters find a dead body in their kitchen and must figure out what to do with it. Chaotic, funny, and surprisingly emotional — this one has “watercooler moment” written all over it.

Maa Behen: Cast That Makes It Pop

Madhuri Dixit plays Rekha, a gorgeous widow navigating chaos with grace. Triptii Dimri (Bulbbul, Animal) is Jaya, the responsible daughter trying to hold things together. And in a fun surprise, digital creator Dharna Durga makes her acting debut as Sushma, the wild-card sibling you’ll probably love most.

Ravi Kishan, Arunoday Singh, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Shardul Bhardwaj round out a strong supporting cast.

Why This Film Feels Different

Director Suresh Triveni is known for emotionally layered films — but Maa Behen leans harder into comedy than his previous work. The script, co-written with Pooja Tolani (who worked on Sacred Games and Lust Stories 2), balances absurd humour with real heart.

This is also Abundantia Entertainment’s first Netflix collaboration — a big deal for Indian OTT content in 2026. If you’re curious about how dark comedy works as a genre, Wikipedia has a solid breakdown.
