Some franchises coast on nostalgia. Others reinvent themselves with each outing. “Lust Stories” belongs firmly in the second camp — and its third installment is bringing an entirely new set of storytellers to the table, while keeping the format that made it a genuine conversation-starter back in 2018.
Netflix has confirmed the Lust Stories 3 release date in India as September 18, 2026, marking the International Emmy-nominated anthology’s return with four fresh, tonally distinct short films exploring love, desire, and the choices people make when they can no longer hide what they truly want.

An Entirely New Directorial Lineup
What sets this installment apart is the complete creative reshuffle. Unlike previous seasons, Lust Stories 3 brings together Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj — four filmmakers with distinctly different sensibilities, which is exactly what makes the anthology format exciting again. Netflix India’s Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh called it a chance to continue the franchise’s journey with four extraordinary storytellers, each crafting a separate cinematic world.
Lust Stories 3: The Ensemble Cast
The film boasts a genuinely stacked lineup: Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Gurfateh Pirzada, Sana Thampi, Radhika Madan, Ali Fazal, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Siddharth. Netflix hasn’t revealed which actors appear in which director’s chapter, keeping the pairings deliberately mysterious ahead of release.
What the Trailer Reveals (and What It Doesn’t)
Rather than spelling out plot details, the trailer leans entirely on mood — charged glances, uneasy silences, and flashes of confrontation rather than exposition. It’s a smart choice: the restraint keeps curiosity high while letting the cast and directors’ reputations do the heavy lifting. A moody song in the second half adds a sensual, restless energy without overplaying the visuals.
