Liverpool’s front 3 are the highest goalscorers in the Premier League

Liverpool closed the gap on Manchester City with a 6-0 win over Leeds United. Following their dominant win over the Yorkshire club, a number of key stats have come to the forefront. 

Jurgen Klopp’s men have scored the most number of goals in the Premier League this season, with 70 from 26 games played. The top three goal scorers and assist providers in the league right now are all Liverpool players. 

Liverpool maintain stronghold over PL goalscoring stats 

Here are the current top three in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot: 

  • Mohamed Salah – 19 goals 
  • Diogo Jota – 12 goals 
  • Sadio ManĂ© – 11 goals 

Salah has been in sensational form this season, and is miles ahead of everyone in terms of current form. The numbers speak for themselves when it comes to the Egyptian, since he has the joint-highest number of assists as well.

The most assists in the Premier League right now are from: 

  • Mohamed Salah – 10 assists 
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold – 10 assists 
  • Andy Robertson – 9 assists 

Jurgen Klopp’s ability to field a consistent starting line-up has paid off well this season. On the other hand, Manchester City have a number of options in every position. Their highest goalscorers are Raheem Sterling with 10 goals and Riyad Mahrez with 8. Gabriel Jesus has the most assists with 7 to his name. 

So, while Manchester City are still at the top of the Premier League table, Liverpool are slowly catching up in terms of points. They have already outscored the defending champions and could be in for another title challenge this season.
