Few transfer stories have landed with quite this level of disbelief. Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s third-highest all-time goalscorer and one of the finest wingers of his generation, has completed a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor on a two-year deal as a free agent, closing the book on nine unforgettable years at Anfield.

How This Deal Came Together

Salah’s Liverpool exit was confirmed back in March after he mutually agreed to terminate his contract a year early, following a difficult final season that saw him dropped and publicly clash with head coach Arne Slot. Despite widespread expectations he’d land in Saudi Arabia or MLS, Trabzonspor emerged as the surprise frontrunner, with the Egyptian flying to Istanbul before completing his signing ceremony in the Black Sea city.
