What Happens in the Finale?
John Stewart and the Halogram travel to a planet and find Sinestro, Hal’s former mentor. He explains that Noah Macon, the last Manhunter, broke him out of jail. Noah wants a power ring of his own to fight the Guardians if they come after him.
Sinestro, ever opportunistic, pitches himself to John. His big selling point: with a power ring, he claims he could bring Hal back to life.
Why John Walks Away?
John, who doesn’t know Sinestro, is more open to listening than the Halogram, who isn’t buying any of it. The conversation goes sideways, and John leaves Sinestro stranded. Elsewhere, John closes the case in Rushville, Nebraska, getting Sheriff Kane to admit she killed Hal. They reach an agreement that lets her and Noal live in peace while John trains to face any future Manhunter threat.
The Fear Factor
Before leaving, John notes that the planet’s air and water are saturated with fear. The Direct argues that this leaves Sinestro in a tight spot that could push him to create something dark. In the comics, Sinestro founded the fear-powered Yellow Lantern Corps.
What Could Come Next?
This part is theory. The Direct suggests Sinestro may build a yellow ring, recruit an army and dig up Hal. Convincing Hal to join might involve making him believe John is in danger. The Injustice comics once saw Hal turn to a Yellow ring and clash with John, so a similar path is possible. Nothing is confirmed.
