Kritika Kamra & Gaurav Kapur Wedding: The Newlywed Actress Opens Up About Love & Vulnerability

There’s something genuinely refreshing about Kritika Kamra. While most newlyweds take weeks off, she was back on set almost immediately after tying the knot with sports presenter Gaurav Kapur — and she wouldn’t have it any other way. In an exclusive chat ahead of her upcoming web series Matka King, Kritika spoke candidly about love, work, and discovering a completely new side of her husband on their wedding day.

Kritika Kamra & Gaurav Kapur Work Before Honeymoon — And They’re Okay With That

Kritika revealed that both she and Gaurav are not the kind of people who would have taken weeks or months off after the wedding — it simply wasn’t the plan. Having worked right up to the week before the ceremony, she said both she and her husband had commitments lined up, so they chose to postpone travel plans and focus on their professional lives first.

That’s not just admirable — it’s a real glimpse into a couple who built their relationship on mutual respect and shared values long before the vows.

The Emotional Wedding Moment She’ll Never Forget

Kritika described the wedding as deeply emotional, sharing that she saw Gaurav vulnerable in a way she hadn’t before — and that it was special. For a couple that already knew each other so well, this quiet, unguarded moment clearly meant everything.

Matka King — Her Most Ambitious Project Yet

Kritika described Matka King as set in the richly textured world of 1960s Mumbai, with her taking on a challenging and narratively pivotal role unlike anything she had done before. She plays opposite Vijay Varma, and the Indian web series format gave both actors ample room to breathe and experiment.

She spoke warmly about director Nagraj Manjule, saying he creates space for actors to experiment — precise with his direction but generous in letting performers find their own footing.

With Vijay Varma, the chemistry came naturally — from the very first reading, there was an organic give-and-take that translated effortlessly on screen, rooted in shared curiosity and observation.
