Klopp becomes the 2nd fastest manager to notch up 100 Premier League wins as Liverpool also set a record of their longest unbeaten run

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool both set records as they beat Everton by 5-2.

Liverpool beat Everton by 5-2 in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday. Divock Origi and Sadio Mane were the stars last night. Mane scored 1 goal and gave 2 assists.

The Merseyside derby win extended Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the Premier League to 32 matches. It a new record in Liverpool’s history. The previous best was 31 match unbeaten streak. It was under Kenny Dalglish from May 1987 to March 1988.

Arsenal (49) and Chelsea (40) are the only two teams who have longer unbeaten runs than this Liverpool side in the Premier League history.

This win also saw Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp became the 2nd fastest coach to reach the 100th Premier League wins milestone. He has done so in just 159 games.

Klopp has achieved this ahead of Premier League’s iconic managers, Alex Ferguson (162), Arsene Wenger (179) and Rafael Benitez (181). Only Jose Mourinho achieved this feat ahead of him in 142 matches.

Fastest managers to 100 Premier League wins:

• Jose Mourinho – 142 matches

• Jurgen Klopp – 159 matches

• Alex Ferguson – 162 matches

• Arsene Wenger – 179 matches

• Rafael Benitez – 181 matches

• Claudio Ranieri – 187 matches

• Gerard Houllier, Kenny Dalglish, Mauricio Pochettino – 197 matches

But Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola already has 97 Premier League wins from just 129 matches. So it seems just a matter of time till Guardiola becomes the fastest manager to 100 Premier League wins.
