Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM review: New Standard for 2024

Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM Review: Should You Buy in 2024?

If you are looking to build a PC, be it for gaming or work, people generally skip the part where they have to choose the right RAM for their PC. Most people do not spend time selecting the right RAM for their PC and end up regretting that because you have hundreds of RAMs on the market, and that makes it even more difficult to choose the correct one for yourself.

However, one thing is evident with the new CPUs and motherboards: DDR5 RAMs are getting standardized, and their prices have become similar to what DDR4 RAMs were. Kingston, as we know, is an old player in the RAM segment with years of expertise, previously under HyperX branding and now with their own name but with the same performance and reliability.

So, we got hold of this Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM by Kingston, and let’s find out if this one is worth buying in 2024 or not.

Kingston FURY KF560C40BWK2-32 is a 32GB DDR5-6000 memory kit with key features:

  • Two 16GB modules
  • Low latency timing of 40-40-40 at 1.35V
  • Supports Intel XMP 3.0 for easy overclocking
  • 288-pin DIMMs with gold contact fingers
  • ARGB lighting that can be fully controlled and customized

Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM: Should You Buy?

In 2024, you can buy DDR5 RAMs at speeds ranging from 4800MHz to 8000MHz; however, most people are comfortable buying the 4800MHz to 6000MHz ones as they are far more affordable. I personally use the DDR5 4800MHz RAM by Corsair, as I was one of the very early adopters. Now, this Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM is priced nicely, a bit premium but worth considering the fact that the company provides a lifetime warranty on these RAMs.

Now, pairing your RAM with the right motherboard and CPU is genuinely important for proper functioning, so while most can use these DDR5 RAMs at speeds ranging from 4800MHz to 6400MHz, not every motherboard will be able to handle speeds over 6400MHz. So, we recommend choosing the RAM on the basis of the budget and compatibility of the PC build.

So, now this Kingston FURY KF560C40BWK2-32 DDR5-6000 32GB Memory Kit that has low CL40 latency and is also capable of overclocking can easily be used for budget gaming builds or even expensive ones. The ARGB is always an added bonus that makes the look of the PC much more appealing and can be easily customised or controlled.

Now, should you go for this RAM? But why? Why should you consider this fast DDR5-6000 RAM over the base 4800MHz RAM? Obviously, because of the increased RAM speeds, but how much effect does that bring to the table? Let’s find out:

Test Config Specifications:

I have compared the Corsair Vengeance Performance DDR5-4800 RAM against this Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM to have a better look at how much improvement you can expect:

Corsair DDR5-4800Kingston DDR5-6000
Cinebench R2320,39222,388
3DMark Fire Strike Physics Score35,71936,800
3DMark Fire Strike CPU Score15,80017,071
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (4K)7271
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (1440p)128129
Guardians of the Galaxy (4K)8384
Guardians of the Galaxy (1440p)148150
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (4K)6365
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (1440p)9195

As you see in productivity applications, the performance difference is still noticeable, and you can expect a jump in scores by up to 5–10%; however, that change in performance decreases when it comes to gaming. Not every game can harness the multi-threaded benefit these RAMs provide, so you will not have much of a difference here.

Verdict

Now, that raises the question: Why at all should you buy this Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM? Well, for extreme budget builders, I won’t recommend this one because a DDR5-4800 RAM will do the job. However, for anyone who wants to make a mid-range or high-end gaming PC that will be used long-term, having high-speed RAM at their disposal is nice because even the subtle performance difference keeps the PC above average over the years.

So, you can buy the Kingston Fury DDR5-6000 RAM and make your PC faster than average while still enjoying perks like a lifetime warranty or ARGB beauty.
