Khufiya: Netflix India has shared the official trailer on their social media pages. “Yahan hathiyaar ke roop hain alag, aur jung hai khufiya. In a world of spies, the traitor must be transported to light. #Khufiya, streaming from October 5, only on Netflix!” they captioned the post.
Plot
Vishal earlier worked together with Tabu in his 2004 film Maqbool, which was loosely based on Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. Khufiya symbolizes Vishal’s first collaboration with Ali, while the filmmaker has worked through Wamiqa on Charlie Chopra and Fursat. Charlie Chopra is a crime-thriller picture, the story of which is adapted from Agatha Christie’s renowned novel, The Sittaford Mystery.
The filmmaker is known for making pictures inspired by classic literature pieces – such as his 2014 film Haider, which was stirred by Shakespeare’s play Hamlet; in 2011, he made 7 Khoon Maaf, based on Ruskin Bond’s Susanna’s Seven Husbands; and in 2006 he made Omkara, which mainly was inspired by Shakespeare’s Othello.
Tabu’s character in Khufiya
In Khufiya, Tabu plays the role of a RAW manager named Krishna. In the book, this was a male character named Wasan. Leakage to Nowhere draws inspiration from real-life events in 2004 when a senior acumen officer went missing after being a spy for decades. The book also offers a unique insight into the workings of the intelligence services, the internal politics, and the chaos that succeeds during the investigation. Earlier, Tabu portrayed the character of a cop in the Drishyam series, Bholaa and Kuttey. Ali, on the other hand, played a mediator in Kandahar.
Khufiya Movie Release Date on Netflix
Netflix has proclaimed the highly-anticipated Hindi crime thriller Khufiya’s release date. Fans can scratch their calendars for October 5, 2023, as the movie is accessible to binge-watch on this date.
OTT Release
Khufiya will be Twitch streaming on Netflix from October 5. The story revolves around a RAW agent named Dev (portrayed by Ali Fazal), suspected of leaking classified information. Another RAW agent, Krishna Menon (played by Tabu), is selected to catch him in the act.
