The Legacy of Kesari Continues

He beat them at their game. He told them where to go. A genocide India must know about. A revolution painted in courage.”

This sequel follows the success of Kesari (2019), which depicted the heroic Battle of Saragarhi, where 21 Sikh soldiers bravely fought against 10,000 Pashtun tribesmen.

Revisiting the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

The tragic events of April 13, 1919, remain one of India’s darkest moments in history. Thousands of unarmed civilians had gathered at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar to protest against the Rowlatt Act and the arrest of Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal, two prominent pro-India activists. In response, General Reginald Dyer ordered Gurkha and Sikh infantry regiments to open fire on the crowd. The massacre, which continued until ammunition was nearly exhausted, resulted in countless deaths and injuries.

With Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar once again brings history to life, highlighting a lesser-known chapter of India’s freedom struggle. The film promises to be a gripping tale of defiance, legal battles, and the unwavering spirit of those who fought against oppression.
