Cassie Lang Is Back — Kathryn Newton Confirms Return for Avengers: Doomsday and the MCU Just Got Even More Exciting

She’s small. But sometimes she’s big. And right now, Kathryn Newton is a very big deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actress officially confirmed her return as Cassie Lang — daughter of Scott Lang aka Ant-Man — for Avengers: Doomsday, arriving in theatres on December 18, 2026. And the way she announced it? Perfectly on-brand for a character who can shrink to the size of an ant.

How Kathryn Newton Made the Announcement?

Newton announced her return on Instagram, revealing a mini director’s chair with her name on it — a nod to the way Marvel Studios confirmed the film’s ensemble cast. Her reasoning for the tiny chair? “It’s tiny because Cassie Lang gets tiny, you know? She’s small, but sometimes she’s big, depending on what’s happening.” It’s the kind of charming, self-aware reveal that only works because she completely owns the character.

What We Know About Cassie in Doomsday?

Newton plays the new Wasp, a hero who can shrink to very small sizes or grow quite large — following directly in the Pym Particle footsteps of her father. The trailer Marvel debuted at CinemaCon already included a shot of Scott Lang kissing his daughter on the head Variety, all but confirming the two will share significant screen time facing down Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.).

This is also exciting for a bigger reason — Cassie Lang’s appearance in Avengers: Doomsday suggests the potential debut of the Young Avengers team in the MCU. National Today For everything MCU and beyond, stay locked in with TechnoSports.
