After the major success of the JioPhone Prima launch, Reliance Jio has come up with an upgraded 4G feature phone — called the JioPhone Prima 2 which promises better features and performance. Meant to be priced below ₹3,000, the JioPhone Prima 2 is said to feature a stylish curved design and come with improved specs — upgrading over its predecessor. Keep reading for an in-depth look at what this new model brings to the table and swing back mid-year as we hear more on a potential price.

The All New JioPhone Prima 2

The JioPhone Prima 2 comes in a single Luxe Blue color and costs ₹2,799 on Amazon. The product will soon be available across Reliance Digital, JioMart, and other retail channels. This is a substantial improvement over the original JioPhone Prima model.

The battery on the JioPhone Prima 2 has also been upgraded. This particular unit rocks a 2,000mAh battery which is an improvement above the 1,800mAh of last year. The improvement should deliver increased usage on a single charge. This is using a Qualcomm chipset, though Vivo hasn’t mentioned specifics as to which one. It runs on KaiOS 2.5.3 and supports several applications and functions as well.

There is a front as well as a rear camera on JioPhone Prima 2, allowing direct video calling from the phone without requiring third-party apps. This is a huge step forward from the original model. The phone also includes Google Voice Assistant and pre-installed apps such as Facebook, YouTube, JioSaavn, JioTV, and JioCinema. Users can make payments through JioPay UPI and use JioChat for messaging.

Additional features include an LED torch, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, and USB 2.0 connectivity. The JioPhone Prima 2 supports 23 languages and weighs just 120 grams. It is designed to work exclusively with Jio SIM cards, continuing the trend of Jio’s feature phone ecosystem. Overall, the JioPhone Prima 2 provides a solid upgrade from its predecessor, combining enhanced functionality and affordability, making it a compelling choice for users seeking a feature-rich 4G phone.
