Everyone knows Deepak Chahar as India’s swing bowling specialist — but the woman cheering the loudest from the stands is a force to reckon with on her own terms. Jaya Chahar (born Jaya Bhardwaj) is an entrepreneur, a corporate veteran, a startup co-founder, and yes — sister to a Splitsvilla winner. She’s everything but ordinary, and the internet can’t get enough of her.

From Corporate Boardrooms to Startup Founder

Jaya Chahar’s career journey reads like a masterclass in ambition. Straight out of university in 2013, she joined Star TV Network as an Accounts Executive — a sharp start for a media grad. From there, she climbed steadily through some of the world’s most prestigious brands: BBC, Universal Music Group, HOOQ, and Airtel.

But Jaya didn’t stop at climbing someone else’s ladder. She co-founded Trade Fantasy Game, a fantasy-sports startup, alongside Deepak Chahar — blending her media-business expertise with his cricketing brand. It’s a partnership that works both on the pitch and in the boardroom.

The Viral Proposal That Broke the Internet

This is the part every romantic loves. Deepak met Jaya through his sister Malti Chahar, and what started as a friendship quickly turned into something much deeper. On 7th October 2021, during IPL 2021 — a CSK vs PBKS match in Dubai — Deepak got down on one knee right in the stands and proposed to Jaya. The moment went viral almost instantly, making them one of Indian cricket’s most beloved couples overnight.

They sealed the deal with a wedding on June 1, 2022, in Agra — the same city Deepak calls home.

The Splitsvilla Connection You Didn’t See Coming

Here’s a fun fact that surprises most people: Jaya is the sister of Sidharth Bhardwaj, the winner of MTV Splitsvilla Season 2. So entertainment fandom runs deep in this family — Jaya just chose the boardroom over the spotlight.
