Jailer 2 Track Ala Bolelo Goes Viral — Rajinikanth’s Superstar Aura Takes Over the Internet

Every Rajinikanth film has a moment — a shot, a style, a song — that stops the internet in its tracks. For Jailer 2, that moment has arrived ahead of the film itself. The first single from the most anticipated Tamil film of 2026, Ala Bolelo, has dropped and is already breaking the internet, with fans flooding social media with reactions, reels and appreciation for what many are already calling the party anthem of the year.

The Song Is Out — And Already Viral

The makers of director Nelson Dilipkumar’s eagerly awaited action entertainer Jailer 2, featuring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, released the first single from the film — Ala Bolelo — on Friday, August 21, 2026, much to the delight of fans and film buffs.

Sun Pictures, which is producing the film, took to its social media timelines to share the lyrical video of the first single, writing: “Ala bolelo, Jilla bolelo, Jithala bolelo, Jinthakka bolelo! #AlaBolelo fever begins, Lyric Video is out now!”

Featuring actress Shamna Kassim, also known as Poorna, the song has already drawn comparisons with Tamannaah Bhatia’s hugely popular Kaavaalaa from the 2023 blockbuster.

The Sound of Ala Bolelo

The makers unveiled the first single, Ala Bolelo, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the track and also lending his voice to the song. The track blends Tamil and Malayalam musical elements, with actors Shamna Kkasim (Purnaa) and Rajesh Madhavan making special appearances.

The song carries a strong Kerala-inspired flavour, with traditional-sounding percussion and a festive presentation. The makers have positioned it as an energetic mass number, raising expectations over whether it can achieve the viral impact of Kaavaalaa.

But more than the music or the lyrics, it is the outstanding choreography of Jani Master which garners attention and takes centre stage.

The promo offers a glimpse of Shamna dancing alongside Rajinikanth, who returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.

The Backlash — And Why It Does Not Matter

No viral moment comes without debate, and Ala Bolelo has been no different. Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 song Ala Bolelo has sparked an unexpected debate following the release of its 32-second promo, with some listeners expressing disappointment.

While everyone has heaped lots of praise and admiration for the promotional video of the upcoming song, there has been an element that has disappointed a few social media users. The specific point of contention was the inclusion of heavy Malayalam musical influences in what many expected to be a purely Tamil-flavoured song.

Ala Bolelo has made a surprising topic of discussion for the much-awaited sequel, and as the entire song is now out on August 21, it will depend on whether the discussion about the Malayalam part of the song becomes even bigger or not.

The makers of Jailer 2 have officially confirmed that the film will hit theaters worldwide on October 15, 2026. The announcement was made by Sun Pictures on July 28, 2026, alongside the release of a 55-second teaser featuring Rajinikanth reprising his role as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian.

Anirudh — The Man Behind the Magic

Anirudh Ravichander returns to compose the music for Jailer 2, marking his sixth collaboration with Rajinikanth and fifth with Nelson Dilipkumar.

Director Nelson returns for the follow-up, as does composer Anirudh Ravichander, who delivered one of the most celebrated soundtracks of 2023 with the original.

The combination of Anirudh’s instinct for mass numbers and Nelson’s love for festive, colourful set pieces has produced a formula that clearly works — and Ala Bolelo looks very much like the next entry in that tradition.
