Jadon Sancho to stay at Dortmund till summer of 2021; Rose appointment could make Haaland stay

Until Jadon Sancho moves to one of the biggest clubs in Europe (for the first time, at least), there will always be rumours linking him away from his current club. And with the January transfer window less than two weeks from opening, fans are getting curious about the England international’s future.

Speaking on the topic in episode 17 of his “Here We Go” podcast, Fabrizio Romano clearly stated that there is no move for Jadon Sancho in the works in the upcoming mid-season window. Borussia Dortmund are confident that they will finish the season with Jadon Sancho in the squad.

The Italian transfer guru also mentioned that the summer of 2021 would be a very interesting one for the future of Jadon Sancho.

The Dortmund star looked set to join the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United this summer but ended up staying at the club. The Blues, on the other hand, signed Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen for a record fee.

The black and yellow club recently sacked Lucien Favre after a string of disappointing performances, and have been linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Marco Rose.

The Gladbach coach has been absolutely brilliant for the Foals, leading them into the Champions League once again, and also managing to get the club into the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

Rose reportedly has a release clause in his contract at Gladbach, which Dortmund will be looking to trigger next summer.

Should Marco Rose be appointed as Dortmund’s head coach next season, it would see Erling Haaland extend his stay at Dortmund for another season. Hence, appointing him as the coach would see Dortmund kill two birds with one stone.
