The Design Process Explained

Isayama shaped Eren’s Titan form using Okami’s physique as a reference, focusing on the fighter’s lean, muscular frame and defined build. The creator wanted to capture the raw athleticism and power of a real martial artist, giving the Attack Titan an authentic combat-ready appearance.

However, the resemblance is limited since Eren’s Titan features exposed muscle, an unusual jaw structure, and glowing eyes that don’t occur in human anatomy. The inspiration was purely about body structure and fighting presence.

Interestingly, Isayama based other titans on professional fighters too, including modeling the Armored Titan after WWE star Brock Lesnar.
