Performance and Cooling

The Neo 12 pairs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with iQOO’s dedicated Q3 gaming chip and an updated Monster Super Core Engine. An active cooling fan sits inside the Ice Dome cooling system, a rare feature that points to long, high-frame-rate gaming sessions.

Display and Touch

The screen is a 2K panel running at 185Hz with iQOO’s pTSF light-emitting technology. Peak brightness reaches 2,200 nits full-screen, with XDR enhancement, circular polarisation and a 1-nit sleep screen for night use.

Touch sampling reaches 5,000Hz for instant response and 500Hz for multi-touch, using the same touch chip as the iQOO 16.

Battery and Gaming

The 9,000mAh Blue Ocean battery uses a single-cell design and fifth-generation silicon-anode technology, with an energy density of 916Wh/L and 100W wired charging. Supported games can run at 2K and 185fps with super-resolution and frame interpolation working together.

iQOO expects more than 50 native 185fps games, full-scene ray tracing and Q-Flex controls. Read our gaming phone coverage for rivals such as the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro.

Design and Price

A new finish called Zhengfeng creates a flowing light effect as the viewing angle changes, and a colourway was developed with the China Academy of Art. The back has a square camera module and the frame is metal.

iQOO has not announced a price or camera specifications. Official details will follow at launch on the iQOO website.

How It Compares

The Neo 12 joins a crowded October of gaming phones with large batteries and fans. Its 9,000mAh cell and 185Hz 2K display match the OnePlus 16 and Ace 7 line, while the active cooling system is a point of difference from phones that rely only on vapour chambers.

Bottom Line

Gaming phones are racing toward bigger batteries, faster screens and active cooling. If iQOO delivers on its teasers, the Neo 12 will be one of the strongest options in China this season.
