The vampire never really rests, and neither does AMC’s gothic hit. “Interview With the Vampire” has officially been renewed for Season 4 — but it’s coming back under a whole new name, and this time, the story belongs to someone other than Lestat.
The announcement landed at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, just days after Season 3, “The Vampire Lestat,” wrapped its run. Season 4 will be titled “Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned,” shifting the spotlight to Sheila Atim’s Akasha — the ancient, formidable vampire queen who made her explosive debut in Season 3.
The Vampire Season 4 : Overview
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| New Title | Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned |
| Based On | Rice’s 3rd “Vampire Chronicles” novel |
| Central Character | Akasha (Sheila Atim) |
| New Showrunner | Hannah Moscovitch |
| Previous Season | The Vampire Lestat (ended July 19) |
| Announced At | San Diego Comic-Con |
Following the franchise’s pattern of naming each season after the novel it adapts, “Queen of the Damned” continues the story past Lestat’s arc and into the reign of Akasha, the first and most powerful vampire. Hannah Moscovitch, who previously wrote and executive-produced episodes of the series, steps up as showrunner, while Mark Johnson and Rolin Jones continue as executive producers.

Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe is an American media franchise owned by AMC Networks, based on The Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice and this renewal keeps that shared universe expanding well beyond its original source material.
A teaser accompanying the announcement leaned hard into Akasha’s menace, hinting that Season 4 could take the show in a darker, more mythic direction than fans have seen so far.
