A Love Story That Turns Sinister

The trailer opens with a couple from another era sitting around a bonfire, before shifting into the present-day story: GV Prakash’s character is searching for a house when he crosses paths with Kayadu Lohar’s character, who happens to be looking for a roommate. What begins as an unlikely, almost too-convenient connection quickly deepens into romance—until the relationship takes a darker, more unsettling turn that gives the film its horror-thriller edge.

The Trailer’s Big Reveal

Immortal Movie Release Date: GV Prakash’s Dream Romance Turns Into a Nightmare; Released on August 26, the nearly three-minute trailer wastes no time establishing its central mystery: what exactly is Kayadu Lohar’s character, and why does her presence blur the line between dream and nightmare? Details remain deliberately vague, with the makers keeping the film’s core twist tightly under wraps ahead of release.

A First-Time Pairing Backed by Dhanush

Immortal marks the first collaboration between GV Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar, and the film’s trailer launch got an extra boost when actor Dhanush personally unveiled it and wished the team luck. Lohar was cast after director Mariyappan Chinna was impressed by her performance in the Malayalam hit Pathonpatham Noottandu, while filming for Immortal began in May 2025 and wrapped in May 2026.

The Sound Behind the Story

Composer Sam C.S. reunites with GV Prakash Kumar for Immortal, continuing their collaboration following Siren and Blackmail. Given Sam C.S.’s track record in atmospheric, tension-driven scores, expectations are high for a soundtrack that matches the film’s unsettling romantic premise.

Busy Schedules for Both Leads

The Immortal movie release date arrives during an active stretch for both stars. GV Prakash Kumar was last seen in Happy Raj and has Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli releasing on October 16. Kayadu Lohar, meanwhile, appears in Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game just one day before Immortal, on September 3—giving audiences back-to-back reasons to watch her range across two very different films.

Final Thoughts

With its September 4 release just days away, Immortal is positioning itself as a genre-bending must-watch: part love story, part psychological horror, and entirely built around not knowing what’s real. For fans of atmospheric thrillers with a romantic core, this one looks worth the ticket.
